Finally a US citizen 🇺🇲 - Denver, CO field office
I had my naturalization interview this morning and was lucky to get a really nice officer. Reading exam: "Who elects Congress?" writing exam: "The people elect Congress." 6 questions: what group of people was brought to America to be sold as slaves? Who was Susan B. Anthony? What is the supreme law of the land? How many senators? For how many years do we elect senators? Who is the father of our nation? Then was asked if I want to do my oath of allegiance today or at a later time. Of course I wanted it today. The officer had me stand up and raise my right hand and I had to repeat the oath after him. Got my certificate of naturalization and a little flag, a passport application, a copy of the declaration of independence and the constitution and a pamphlet about voting and was out the door within less than 30 minutes. So glad to be finally done with USCIS. Good luck to everyone else currently in the process.

I had my I-140 approved last year. And today I woke up to hear the excellent news, I-485 is approved. I am sharing my story as a way to give back to the great Lawfully family that helped me remain hopeful. I had an arrest in my record but the prosecutors had rejected my case for filing due to insufficient evidence. In my application, I included an arrest summary that specified the final disposition and a rejection letter from the prosecutors. In addition, my attorney and I wrote two letters to explain that despite my efforts, the law enforcement did not let me access the police report, thus it was not included in my application. I am very happy today and I am sure your time will come soon too. Never lose hope and keep praying. Cheers.

God alone with a whole lot of patience! this process can take you to some low feelings but when you get that green card? it’s wonderful, I have no words ! I’m going to brain storm some stuff that could help you . Got an Rfe at my interview ( Dec 20th) the officer wanted some more proof that our marriage is real , get your ppl yo write sworn affidavits about your relationship, bring bank statements not just prices of paper that state y’all are on an account together they want spending habits. Make sure your partner , when filing taxes indicates that they are married ( you don’t need a social for this , there’s an option for citizens who are married to immigrants who have not yet received papers/ green card etc) . Get an ID ! eg I live in Florida and you are able to get a state Id , they want to see that you have the address of your partner , you have to prove that you live together. The more prepared you are and well organized, the less chance you have of receiving an rfe.
