Case Processing
Sharing my I-140 approval story under RB2-NIW
I recently received approval of my EB-2 NIW petition and wandered to share my experience with Chen Immagration for anyone who may be considering hiring attorney for NIW petition.
I initially filled my case on July 20, 2025 in normal timeline but upgraded to premium processing on June 22, 2026 and get approval notification on Aug 20, 2026.
overall, my experience with this firm was very positive. one thing I appreciated the most was thier quick and timely response of any question. Another aspect was dedicated attorney to my case. This way I donot need to explain every thing from the beginning as my attorney was well aware of the recent progress.
In financing, they were very transparent and there was no hidden fee.
I would recommend Chen immigration to anyone looking for immigration attorney, specifically for EB2-NIW.
Thanks

My case is I-130 (IR1/CR1) consular processing (I’m currently outside the US). The receipt date is August 14, 2025, and there haven't been any updates since then.
Could anyone share how long approval might take from this point? Also, has anyone who filed around the same time received their approval yet?"
any info would help
lawyer that helped someone I know filled my vawa is currently under investigation for potential fraud fillings 100s vawa cases by USCIS.

My F4 Immigrant Visa petition (Case Number: KDU2014******). My Priority Date is December 17, 2010, and my country of chargeability is Nepal. According to the September 2026 Visa Bulletin, the Final Action Date for F4 Worldwide has advanced to October 22, 2011. My priority date is now fully current. However, when I try to log into the CEAC portal using my Invoice ID ********, I receive the message: "Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing..." So What to do?
Adice/needed
Good day. USCIS sent me a notice to appear for an interview on the 3rd.
The first interview was for my I-360/I-485. My spouse and I were not able to attend that interview. The second interview was scheduled around the time I had started my VAWA application because of the abuse I experienced. My lawyer sent USCIS a letter explaining the situation, and they cancelled the interview.
Now, USCIS has sent me another notice to appear for my I-485 interview. My husband and I are no longer together, although we are not legally divorced yet. At this point, I have nothing to do with him or the marriage.
My lawyer advised me that it would be better for me to attend the interview and said she will accompany me. However, I’ve been seeing reports about ICE arresting people at USCIS offices, and honestly, I’m worried and unsure about what to do.
What do you guys think? Has anyone been in a similar situation, especially with a VAWA case? Should I attend the interview with my lawyer?
Prima facie
Hii Guys!! Good day
I finally got my work permit in the mail 💃🏽 I’m so grateful to everyone that responded on here to me about avenues to help move things faster.
Now I have another question. I applied for my VAWA in 2023. I have not gotten any Prima Facie letter at all other than my case has been moved to a different location. Should I be worried about this? or do I need to reach out?
Thank you to everyone!
Remarrying While VAWA Is Pending: Can You Continue Working on Your Existing C09 EAD?
If you remarried a U.S. citizen while your VAWA-based I-360 and I-485 were still pending, what exactly happened to your existing work authorization?
Did you continue working while your new marriage-based I-130, I-485, and I-765 applications were pending?
My understanding is that remarriage does automatically dismiss a pending VAWA case; also the applicant must formally withdraw it. However, if you withdrew your VAWA petition, did your existing C09 work authorization remain valid temporarily because USCIS had not yet processed the withdrawal or closed the VAWA-based I-485?
More specifically, were you legally permitted to continue working with the existing, unexpired C09 EAD until USCIS formally terminated the underlying VAWA-based I-485 or approved the new marriage-based EAD?
The new application would be based on marriage to a U.S. citizen. I have consulted several attorneys, but I have not been able to get a clear and consistent answer. I would especially appreciate hearing from anyone who personally went through this situation.
