Case Processing
NVC Stage
Hello everyone,
My husband and I just submitted the requested civil documents to NVC. Now we wait for the notice that we are “documentarily qualified”. How long does it take to get this notice after submitting everything?
And how long after being DQed will we wait to hear that an interview has been scheduled for him at the consulate?
He will be at the consulate in Frankfurt, Germany, for reference.
Thank you. 🙏

green card denied
Hello everyone, I went to the Green Card interview twice. The first time, everything was in order. After the second interview, my I-130 was approved. However, immigration asked me to submit my medical exam, test results, and co-sponsor info together. I sent the medical exam separately and the co-sponsor info online, which led to my Green Card being denied. I’ve since requested a review and submitted the correct documents. Has anyone else been through this? Any advice on what happens next?

Starting a new journey
Hi everyone! I’m excited to start being more active here on Lawfully — I truly believe it’s an incredible space to connect with people who are going through the same things and support one another through this complicated and often overwhelming immigration process.
A little bit about me: I was previously married and applied for my green card through that relationship. We attended the interview but never got an answer.
All of this was happening while I was going through an extremely abusive relationship — emotionally, financially, and psychologically. I was being threatened constantly. After hitting a breaking point, I decided to file for divorce and now I’m preparing my VAWA case.
This time around, I hired a major law firm that specializes in VAWA cases — but unlike before, I’m not just leaving everything in the attorney’s hands. I’ve spent countless hours researching, learning, and educating myself, and I plan to be actively involved every step of the way. I’ll be asking questions, staying informed, and making sure I understand everything that’s being done on my behalf.
I know this is a long, long process, and that patience is key — but I’m staying hopeful. I’ll be doing everything I can, including exploring all possible resources like expedite requests. And as I go through this journey, I’ll be sharing everything I learn along the way — the wins, the lessons, and everything in between.
If you’re on a similar path, I’d love to connect and support each other. We’re stronger when we share our knowledge and experiences 💪🏼

case initially at NBC before transfer to LA FO
2 weeks ago, it was transferred to LA - non local field office. I got to know this after chatting with a live agent.
Note: We applied for EAD with I-485 - Myself, my wife, and my son but we didn't get it or receive any update till today and today it is only the news of only I-485 (Card is being produced). I don't know why we didn't get approved for EAD earlier but we don't need it anymore because all that matters is Green Card.
Congratulations 👏 👏 👏 to us and I wish you all waiting the best of the best of luck.
Woohoo it's been a journey.

F2A DQ ene-25 Guayaquil.
