Interview I 130 & I 485 Baltimore Office
Ok, here is my experience: We arrived at 9:40 AM today; our interview was scheduled for 10:00 AM. A few minutes later, they called my spouse, and we both went in with our attorney. Questions we were asked: Where and how did you meet? How long did you date before getting married? Do you have children together? Do you keep in touch with your child from a previous marriage? How often do you see your in-laws (both sides)? How do you support your spouse emotionally, financially etc....? The officer also asked for additional documents, which we submitted, including: Household income Estimated value of all assets Officer's remark: “I wanted to separate you two but don’t have time for that.” They went through all the questions from the I-130 and I-485, and we updated a few of our answers as needed. Final result: Our case is being held for review. Our attorney gave a strong closing statement, explaining that there is no reason for further review since we've demonstrated a bona fide relationship and clearly live and share our lives together. He also highlighted the beneficiary’s full eligibility for adjustment of status, using some solid legal arguments. Officer's response: “Thank you for that, attorney. Now that I have more evidence, wait to hear something by the end of the day. I need to update and further review everything.” Advice: Always go with an attorney. Good luck to everyone preparing for their interview. Bottom line: if your relationship is genuine, you have nothing to fear. God bless you all!
