USPS green card return to USCIS stuck in transit — no updates in weeks
Hi everyone,
My green card was mailed to my old address even though I updated both USCIS and USPS on June 25. USPS tracking shows the package was forwarded, but since early July, it’s been stuck bouncing between USPS hubs (CA, MO, KS).
The last scan was on July 29 at the Kansas City KS Distribution Center, saying:
“In transit to the destination” — but no movement since then.
🔹 Has anyone else seen their green card take over a month to return to USCIS?
🔹 Once it’s finally back, did USCIS automatically resend it to your new address or ask you to file I-90?
Trying to stay patient, but this delay has caused a lot of stress. Any advice or similar experience would really help.
RFE after interview
I did my interview today it went well but my form I-693 expired after two years so I was RFE’d, I was told I’m going to receive a notice in the mail. I’m a bit worried because my EAS and DL expires on 8/10. Does anyone know if they’ll have me send the form to the field office in which I interviewed or will they have me send it to a service center ? I hope it doesn’t take long

Combo interview (N400+I751) experience!! NYC.
Just wanted to share my experience and say thank you to everyone who supported, advised, or encouraged me throughout this journey. I had my combo interview 2 days ago, and I honestly couldn’t be more grateful or happy with how it went.
The officer was very professional but also kind. We started with the civics questions — I answered each one fully and even gave extra information, which he seemed to really appreciate. Then we moved on to the reading and writing tests. After that, he said, “Congratulations, you passed the test.”
Next, we went through the yes/no questions. He asked me to define several terms — I think more than seven — and also asked follow-up questions about a few of my “no” answers. I was a bit surprised by how many definitions he asked for, but I stayed calm and answered confidently.
Then we moved on to the I-751 portion. He asked me how I met my wife, when we started dating, and how long we dated before getting married. He also asked my wife about her relationship with my family. One funny moment — we both forgot to wear our rings! We had everything else packed and ready, but completely forgot them at home. We just explained that honestly, and he smiled and moved on.
We brought a very organized expandable folder with lots of evidence. When I put it on the table, he said, “Wow, that’s a lot!” My wife laughed and said, “I told him!” He was impressed, though, and went through everything carefully — even looked through almost all of our two photo albums (one wedding, one everyday life). He said he really appreciated how organized and well-prepared we were.
The whole interview took exactly 50 minutes. By the end, I had a good feeling — like he was going to approve both cases. He handed me a paper that said:
1. Congratulations, you passed the civics exam.
2. Decision cannot be made yet.
He told me he still needed to review the cases further and that I should expect a decision within 120 days. I left a little confused, but hopeful.
Well… 6 hours later I got the updates — approved! 🥳
Thank you again to everyone here who helped along the way. This group has been such a blessing. Good luck to everyone and remember patience is the key 💙🙏
Ps. Oath ceremony was scheduled for next month.
