I'M SOOOO HAPPY! My GC was delivered yesterday!
I can't express how excited I am since yesterday (Friday) afternoon when I saw the GC in my mail all of a sudden!
* I-485, I-130, I-765, I-131 filed concurrently. (I deleted I-765 and I-131 from my timeline since they are no longer needed.)
* Sent to Chicago lockbox.
* San Jose Field Office.
* RFE: medical form (civil surgeon missed a date so I have to resubmit).
* As of now, my case status is still "card was produced," no tracking whatsoever, no USPS Informed Delivery notification.
* I added some dates in my timeline below so it's more straightforward.
I'll try to keep the long story short. (Still a bit long though. Thanks for reading!)
- Got a job offer in early April so need my EAD badly.
- Searched all over the Internet trying to find a way to expedite my I-765 since I almost didn't fall into ANY category that USCIS listed.
- On a random immigration lawyer's website, it said healthcare industry people have a very high chance to be approved for Expedite Requests, no matter working for a hospital or a business. My offer is from a healthcare company.
- Drafted an explanatory document explaining the importance of my role for this company. Sent to company for approval and signature.
- Uploaded my offer (signed by me and company) and the explanatory document (signed by company) to my USCIS account in I-765's Unsolicited Documents. Called USCIS requesting for an expedite. Luckily the Agent was super responsible and friendly. Was told they will call me back in a few days.
- My application started to process on the very same day and received an RFE.
- I-130 and I-485 approved within the same week.
- Exactly 1 week after my call, USCIS called me back saying I also need to upload a Personal Statement in order to process the Expedite Request for I-765, which means my Expedite Request DIDN'T quite move forward AT ALL!
- I was confused but here's a possible assumption:
~ The Agent marked my I-765 case;
~ My case officer somehow saw the mark right away and decided to take a look at my full application;
~ Realized my case was straightforward so the officer just went ahead and processed it.
Here are some of my suggestions. Please keep in mind that I'm NOT a lawyer and I'm not giving any legal advice. Please consult your lawyer if you need help.
I know my experience wasn't typical at all. But if your case hasn't moved for so long, or you really need to join a company soon, try to be a little proactive. You never know what may happen.
However, please remember to have a VERY STRONG reason in order to bring up an Expedite Request. If you just want to expedite for a random or weak reason, it's not gonna work or even have negative impact on your case.
Thanks for taking your valuable time reading through my story. I really hope my experience can inspire you guys, and I truly hope everyone can have your cases approved soon!

Green Card
Today I had my interview for my I-485. It went well and after a couple hours I received an uldate “New Card is being produced”. I understood that I got approved but I contacted USCIS with a question and they told me that in their end it is still pending.
Should I be concerned? #DV #I-485 #GreenCard

Journey From Documentarily Qualified to Green Card in Hand
It was a long tiring story for me. I was documentarily Qualified in August 4, 2020 but due to COVID-19, I have to wait for a long 4 years, Finally My interview was scheduled in February 19,2024. After getting approval for the visa, I have tried to pack everything for travelling to the United States, but my immigration Green Card fee payment date was February 24, 2024. Finally I entered in the United States by March 6, 2024. Then I was just waiting for my Green Card. On March 16, I track my case through USCIS website and saw that “Card is being Produced”. Then on March 29,2024 status changed to “New Card Mailed to me.” and the next day status changed to “New Card has been picked up by The United States Postal Service.” April 1, 2024 by morning, I have got my Green Card in the mailbox. (April 1st didn’t fooled me this time 😉)
(N.B: I would suggest some people who already paid their immigration fee for Green Card after Visa Approval but address has been changed. In that case, When you will enter in the United States, just carry a domicile of a person whom you are going to live in the United States such as Bank Statement or Utility of current Address. When You will be in immigration process, just tell the CBP officer that you need to change the address if your petitioners actually changed the address. They will ensure the proper process. Otherwise your green card will be sent to the address you gave in your DS-230 or DS-260 Form.)

do I have to pay the $220 dollar for the immigration fees
so my kids were issued IR2 visa and they arrived in the US last month . I received a notice from the uscis asking me to pay the $220 to issue their green cards.
I have read online the children under 18 years can become a US citizenship after they enter the US if one of the parents is a US citizen. so my question is do I have to pay the $220 or just file the n600. #Djibouti #n600 #greencard
3 years rule for LPR (vawa)
Hi everyone,
I got my green card approved in December ‘23, then I got married last month. I contacted my lawyer to start the petition for my husband but my lawyer said that we need to wait (either 3 years or until I became citizen) because I got my green card through marriage (I got it from Vawa, so I don’t know if that makes a difference with that 3 years rule)
I have read in some forums that that law doesn’t apply to green cards through Vawa. Also, I read that I can apply if I can prove that the previous marriage was true.
Does anyone knows anything about this?
Thank you in advance!!

USCIS Credit Card Transaction- took money from my account and then refunded it back
Has anyone experienced the USCIS taking money for processing from your bank and then reversed it back? This is for my Concurrent filing application for EB1-A. Anyone have any idea, please? I have spoken to the credit card company, they told me they approved the transaction and it was USCIS that reversed the payment.#greencard #EB1 #I-485 #concurrentfiling #filingfees #EAD #EB2
