Hi everyone,
Any of you have applied for a SSN? How long does it take for you to get one?
I have applied for a SSN a month ago and until now I did nor receive anything. I have a receipt and called the office yesterday. They told me that they are still waiting for the Department of Homeland Security to verify my information.

hi, folks! I just want to share my experience traveling to Brazil with the combo card.Everything was easy and I didn’t have any problems with the immigration.I just had to show the card to the immigration agent tell him my address in the US and he let me in.I’m surprised how easy it was.I flew from Brazil to Miami and then from Miami to Los Angeles with American air lines.

I have one question that both my EAD and 131 has been approved for more than 10 days, but I have not received them. Anyone know how long you usually get them? what should I do? thank you!!

Question
I was reading that USCIS sends you a letter in the mail to let you know they have moved your case from one office to another, my case was transferred from NBC to CFO but I never got a mail and it doesn’t even say it on my USCIS account. It’s been 2 months since they transferred it. Has anyone experienced this or know why they don’t let some people know they moved their case?
Changing surname on passport ?
So im currently waiting for my I-130 to be approved. Think im at 180 days or something.
I was just wondering if me taking my spouses surname is something that is required? My wife is a US citizen and I’m a Latvian citizen living in the UK. I would change my surname however the process of doing so, takes a long time. I was wondering if my I-130 case would even be effected if I do change it. would the person viewing my I-130 case think it’s not a bonifide case if I haven’t changed my surname yet? or even delay the case if I do change it.
ideally I would rather not change it until I immigrate to the states however if it’s something that’s best done now then I’ll do it.
I just don’t know how it’ll effect my case if I do or don’t.
