had a complex immigration history, initially marrying a woman and undergoing two interviews, but my I-485 and I-130 were denied. I pursued asylum, divorced, and remarried a few years later to a man who turned out to be abusive, prompting me to file for VAWA in September 2022. My case was expedited due to my dad's illness, thanks to a congressman's help, and was approved in December last year.
Despite having a lawyer, I handled most of the process myself. I was anxious about my interview at the D field office, fearing deportation, but the officer was kind and asked straightforward questions about my job, work history, and previous marriage. They didn't mention my asylum or previous marriage, and I was asked to update my medical exam, which I submitted promptly.
I'm relieved to share that my green card was approved on December 6th. card in hand
485 interview
Hi everyone,
My VAWA (I-360) was approved, and I recently received an interview notice for my I-485.
The interview is scheduled together with my 14-year-old son (derivative applicant).
I was wondering if anyone here has had experience attending an I-485 interview with a child after VAWA approval.
If so, could you please share:
• What kinds of questions were asked during the interview?
• Were there any questions directed to your child, and if so, what were they like?
• Did the officer mostly speak to the parent, or to both?
Any shared experiences or insights would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much in advance.
All Glory to God in the Highest
“But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Matthew 19:26 ESV
I cannot stress enough to give out my testimony in this platform where I had been laid off from my previous job and in just 3 months, the Lord has provided me with a job and an approved green card. Best Christmas present ever. Keep trusting in God everyone and be in constant prayers. Remember to cherish every moment, your time is coming. I kept growing in my faith every single day and God kept reminding me to “Be Still and know that He is God”. Keep reading your Bibles like a mirror to transform yourself to be more like Jesus and not as a window to look at the shortcomings of others. Life is so much happier this way!

Anyone got an interview so early with no visa availability in the next year?
Applied to AOS in F2a category in Oct 2025.
Got interview already.
Worried about the timeline. Anyone else had a similar experience? Makes no sense for me to get an interview as green card backlog (F2a) is still 16 months away from being current.
Pending Green Card
Hello everyone! Maybe someone can share advice or their experience. On June 12th, 2025, I received my CR1 visa. I paid the fees for my Green Card on October 14th, and the next day, October 15th, I entered the US. Since then, I haven’t received my Green Card yet. When checking on USCIS, it says they received my payment and to wait up to 90 days. It’s already been more than 60 days with no updates. Is it normal to wait this long for the card? I know many people who received their Green Card within 2 weeks of entering the US.

Any business idea? I am running out of money.
Hello everyone,
May not be the right place to post this….but I thought I would give it a try.
I saved money over the last 5 years from my job to plan and open my own business one day. I have been saving every penny from work. However, it’s been over 6 months now that I stopped working since my EAD has been in process for the last 6 months & all my savings is now getting depleted slowly. The lawyer told me not to work because it would affect my i485 petition, and of course I don’t want to work illegally either.
My question to all of you - Is there anyone here with any business idea? Or do you have any business of your own that you would need a partner for? I am from India, open to any business. My EAD should be here in 2-3 months, but my previous company has no vacancy anymore & instead of trying to look for a job I am looking to open a business or partner someone with. Let me know if you have something, I am a hard working guy, highly educated & a fast learner.

I am facing with my US visa biometric appointment profile. While registering my profile, I answered the security questions, but now when I try to log in, the system shows “security answers do not match,” and I am unable to access my account.
