anyone know a good immigration lawyer in nyc?
i have an approved vawa but my i-485 apppeal was denied. i have yet to know the reason bc I havent received the notice and its going to be past 30days next week. I never got any update or request for eveidence since I filed for an appeal from my marriage. Im going to have to file a new one at this point, my current lawyer is usless. Please I really need a lawyer that can help with this

hi I’m inquiring for my dad. he submitted his I-130 I-485 and I-765 along with my three siblings on a marriage base application. his lawyer submitted everything about a year ago and he still hasn’t received a receipt number. his lawyers keeps saying is normal because of the high wait time but it just seems very very long for a receipt. is there anyone that could shed some light on this? please
I-485 at Step 4 (Decision) after reopening – anyone similar?
Hi everyone,
My I-485 (family-based) was reopened after my removal proceedings were terminated. My case now shows Step 4 of 4: Case Decision, with an estimated 5 months, and it appears my interview was waived.
I also noticed internal events like H028 (case reopened) and FTA0 (file accessed), but no RFEs or documents posted.
Has anyone been in a similar situation?

My marriage-based interview was on March 14th at the Orlando Field Office. The officer told me I would get a response within 3 weeks, but it's been months now and I still haven't received any update. Case Ready to be Scheduled for Interview
Hi all
it’s been 61 days since my case was updated to be ‘case is ready to be scheduled for an interview’. I knew through a congressman that it’s in the Washington field office and it is been more than 30 days since last communication so my congressman sent already a follow up almost 2 weeks ago but still not received any response.
did anyone have any idea about this field office?
do anyone know how long this FO will take to process the next step knowing that is a non local office for me?
Any thoughts it’s been already a long wait for me (PD March 2023, RD July 2024, Biometrics September 2024, last update October 2025. current all the time, ROW)

I am completely devastated by my case and no longer have the energy to keep fighting.
USCIS sent an RFE back in July, but I never received it. I called multiple times and submitted three separate requests to obtain a copy, yet I never received any response. Eventually, my case was denied.
After the denial, I was waiting to receive both the I-360 and I-485 denial notices to understand the reason for the decision and file a motion to reopen. I have only 33 days to file the motion, and due to the holidays, shipping alone took 8 days.
I received only the I-485 notice, it appears that the I-360 notice is lost as well. At this point, I will not have enough time to request another copy and respond within the required timeframe.
I am extremely exhausted and overwhelmed by this situation. It feels like everything keeps going wrong, and I don’t know how much more I can take.
