A05 category EAD
Hi community,
Has anyone applied for EAD under A5 category (based on approved asylum) recently? I have been waiting for 15 months for it. Already did online case inquiry through USCIS website twice but no response.
Since I am waiting for my Greencard as well(for 18 months now), I at least wanted to get the EAD so that I could get a real ID to fly domestically among other reasons.
Please share your experience with A5 category EAD.

Curious if anyone in similar situation
A few weeks ago, I chatted with Emma and was told that my I-485 case was at the Queens Field Office, which made sense because I live in Queens, NY.
Yesterday, I asked Emma again about my case timeline and where my file is currently located. This time, Emma said my case is at the Los Angeles (LA) Field Office. I asked twice, and both agents gave me the same answer.
Is this normal? Has anyone else's case been transferred to a different field office even though they don't live in that area? Did it affect your processing time?
I'd appreciate hearing about your experience. Thanks!
I-485 asylum based mandamus
According to the USCIS processing time tool, the normal processing time for an asylum-based I-485 is now 31 months. My case has been pending for 19 months.
Can I still file a writ of mandamus even though my case is technically within the posted processing time?
Has anyone here filed a mandamus under similar circumstances? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience and the outcome.
N400
N400 submitted in October 2025 in Los Angeles. anybody have any idea on how long until my interview notice? (Had green card for 10 years - not through marriage).
Also - I got an email to say action has been taken on my case back in May but there was no update when I logged in. No documents or anything. Strange...

uscis officer work site visit
Hi, my wife and I completed our I-485 interview in August 2025. It has been 10 months since our interview.
I have been working for my sponsoring employer since 2023 and continue to work there. However, since last year , I have only been working about 25 to 27 hours per week. Today, while I was working at my sponsor's store, a USCIS officer came to the store and interviewed me for more than an hour.
In addition to working for my sponsor, my wife and I also work as servers at a restaurant. The USCIS officer asked about the W-2 from the restaurant where my wife works. Since we both work as servers, we earn a decent amount in tips. The officer pointed out that we earn more money at the restaurant than we do with my sponsoring employer.
The officer also asked me questions related to BDV Solutions. Last week, I increased my hours with my sponsoring employer to 30 to 35 hours per week, but my pay stubs will not reflect those hours until next week. When the officer asked how many hours I currently work, I answered that I now work 30 to 35 hours per week.
The officer requested that I submit my three most recent pay stubs from both jobs, my 2025 W-2s, and the employment contract with my sponsoring employer by tomorrow .However, my most recent pay stubs from my sponsoring employer still show only 25 to 27 hours per week .
Should I submit those pay stubs even though they only have 25 hours per week
