Case Processing
¡Gracias!

Advice on filing Writ of Mandamus
I’m here again. I spoke to my lawyer today, and I’ve already explained my situation in my last post. If I proceed with my lawyer to file a writ of mandamus, he will charge $5,000 plus court fees of $405. This is a significant amount for me, considering that I’ve already spent more than this amount while filing my case for my marriage-based green card.
My lawyer informed me that after filing this writ of mandamus, USCIS must take action within 60 days. He plans to sue them if they fail to respond. He had already filed a pre-mandamus on August 2026 and gave them 60 days to respond.
The only change I’ve received on my I-130 is that USCIS is currently processing the case. On my I-485, I received a silent update about a FBI notice. That’s all the information I have.
Now, my lawyer is going to actually sue them. It’s just a lot to pay.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I got a RFE for birth certificate
I received RFE for Birth Certificate and my lawyer suggested we should mail and they have mailed it. Field office is LA. How long does it take for LA office to scan and upload? Has someone mailed as well uploaded it in the USCIS?

CAMBIOS EN OFICINAS DE PROCESAMIENTO
Buenas tardes
saludos

🙏❤️ A Prayer for Everyone Who Is Waiting on God
Heavenly Father, I pray for everyone who is waiting for an answer, a breakthrough, or a blessing.
Lord, the same way You gave me peace and made me forget that the Lawfully app was even on my phone, I pray that You do the same for them.
Remove their anxiety, fear, stress, and constant worrying. Help them stop checking for updates every minute and trust Your perfect timing.
Isaiah 60:22: “I the LORD will hasten it in his time.”
Psalm 27:14: “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart.”
Philippians 4:6: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
Father, while they are waiting, give them peace. Let their testimony come when they least expect it.
What God has promised, He will fulfill in His perfect timing. 🙏❤️
In Jesus' name, Amen! 🙌
EXPEDITE
I filed my I-360 (VAWA) and I-485 together in May 2022, and I’ve been waiting for almost 53 months now.
Unfortunately, the business I work for is being shut down due to a City Council decision, so I’m going to lose my job and my only source of income. My EAD is still valid, but I’ll be facing serious financial difficulties, especially with rent and living expenses.
Can I request an expedite for my I-360 based on financial hardship, even though my EAD is still valid?
Has anyone been in a similar situation or successfully expedited their VAWA case due to financial hardship? Does waiting almost 53 months make any difference?
EB-2 Follow-to-Join: NVC Expedited Case to Embassy, I-824 Pending
I became a permanent resident through EB-2 adjustment of status. My child was already registered as a derivative beneficiary in CEAC.
NVC issued an “Expedite Notification” and transferred our immigrant visa case to the U.S. Embassy before my I-485 was approved.
After I adjusted status, NVC explicitly instructed me in writing that I must file Form I-824 for eligible family members to follow to join. I followed those instructions, and my I-824 is currently pending.
CEAC still shows the case at the Embassy, with my child listed as a derivative beneficiary.
My question: Since the case was already expedited and transferred to the Embassy, is I-824 approval still required, or can the Embassy process my child’s follow-to-join visa using my approved I-485 and Green Card?
Has anyone experienced a similar situation?
