N-400 Combo interview
I had my combo interview at the Federal Plaza office NYC, three years rule. Unfortunately, the I-751 portion of the interview didn’t go well. The officer was very strict. Although we submitted a lot of evidence and he reviewed everything, we did not have the lease payment receipts or money order copies. I explained that we didn’t have them, but he kept asking for them multiple times. He also asked my wife to state our monthly rent for the past five years and questioned her about the visa I used to enter the United States. She was unable to answer because the officer was quite intense, and it felt like he was suspicious of our case. For the N-400 part, I passed the civics and English test, and the officer gave me a paper confirming that. However, it also stated that a decision could not be made at this time. I would like to know what the next steps might be. When can I expect an update? Will USCIS send me a Request for Evidence (RFE), schedule a second interview, or deny my I-751 application? I’m very worried and anxious about the outcome. I truly appreciate any guidance or advice you can offer. Thank you.
