Hi fam ,
please don’t ignore this post and try to answer as much as you can . So my Vawa got approved last year in January filled in August 2021. I 485 got transferred to field office and then to Vermont without any interview , it was sitting in Vermont for quite a few months and finally they decided to move it to NBC in October 2025. Medical was sent in November 2025 and now recently I got a letter for fingerprints . I am really scared to go as the current situation but don’t have another option. What you guys think do you hear anyone got detained recently went for their biometrics or it’s safe to go . please help out and share your experience

VAWA RFE after 4+ years and FRAUD INVESTIGATION, RFE for bona fide marriage
have a pending VAWA case from 2021 and I just received a RFE asking me to prove that my marriage was bona fide.
The problem is, I don’t really have strong documentary evidence. Most of the ppw was handled by my ex-husband and I don’t have access to things like a lease, utility bills, or joint accounts. We’ve been separated for about 5 years now.
What I can get is statements. I can probably collect around 5 even to 10 affidavits from people who knew us as a couple and can confirm the marriage was real.
I’m also wondering if I should include additional things even though they didn’t specifically ask for them, like:
• my ongoing therapy records
• medical/psychological evaluations after the abuse and still up to this date
• good moral character letters from work or people I worked for
For those who waited 4+ years and then got an RFE like this, how did you handle it? Did you mostly rely on affidavits? Did you add extra evidence even if it wasn’t requested?
Any advice or personal experiences would really help. Thank you.
advance parole
I would appreciate clarification on the potential implications of traveling on advance parole with a pending green card application, especially given the inclusion on the 75-country visa freeze list, which includes my country. my interview was completed 150 days ago but still under review.I plan to travel to my home country for 2 months and have advance parole until 2029. Is it safe to travel on advance parole under these circumstances?
Response from USCIS 04/05/2022 Filer
My congressman got a response from Uscis & this was the response. I’m from a partially banned country. Congressman said they will check back in 3months.
Response from USCIS
Thank you for your inquiry, dated January 5, 2026, on behalf of your constituent, XXXXX regarding Form I-360, Petition for Amerasian, Widower or Special Immigrant, EAC222XXXXX
On December 2, 2025, USCIS issued Policy Memorandum PM-602-0192, Hold and Review of all Pending Asylum Applications and all USCIS Benefit Applications Filed by Aliens from High-Risk Countries, which, among other things, directs the agency to place an adjudicative hold on pending benefit requests filed for aliens from countries listed in PP 10998, regardless of entry date, while a comprehensive national security review is conducted.
This review is an agency-wide operational measure and reflects USCIS’s exercise of its authority to investigate immigration benefit requests filed by aliens who may pose risks to the national security and public safety of the United States, as outlined in DHS Delegation of Authority 0150.1, issued June 5, 2003. During the review period, USCIS is conducting individualized, case-by-case security assessments and is requiring additional scrutiny where warranted, including interviews that may not be waived.
It is important to note that:
• The hold does not constitute a denial or revocation of any benefit;
• Each affected case will receive an individualized review; and
• The hold remains in effect until formally lifted by the USCIS Director through subsequent written direction.
Additionally, USCIS announced Policy Alert PA-2025-26, which authorizes consideration of country-specific factors—such as identity document integrity and information-sharing limitations—as part of the discretionary analysis for affected benefit requests.
USCIS recognizes that these actions may result in processing delays; however, the agency has determined that such measures are necessary to ensure national security and public safety and to fully comply with governing law.
Case status may be monitored online at https://egov.uscis.gov/.
We hope this information is helpful. If we may be of further assistance, please let us know.
Respectfully,
USCIS Service Center Congressional Liaison
