Divorce Waiver Interview Cancelled From Nigeria
Got this in the mail today, ***This is to advise you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have canceled the previously scheduled interview on Tuesday for the above applicant. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. You will be notified of any further action taken on this case, including any rescheduled interview information, under separate notice.*** Has anyone experienced this and what was the outcome? Also is this a good sign or bad sign
How many pages was your Request for Evidence before you got approved or denied?
I just received an 5-page RFE and I’m trying to see if there’s any pattern. From what I’m noticing, it seems like when USCIS is really investigating a case or leaning toward denial, they send a very long and detailed RFE instead of a short one.
Would love to hear:
• how many pages your RFE was
• what they asked for (roughly)
• and what the final outcome was
Just trying to understand if long RFEs usually mean trouble or if people still get approved after them.
My case was transferred
Hi everyone, I filled for VAWA on November,2022
I got notification on the app that my case was transferred twice within a week and I received two different letters from USCIS first one was about transferring my case from Vermont to the National benefits center and the second transfer was back to Vermont! just few days after that I saw the PFD renewal in my mail!
did that happen to anyone here?
What USCIS Really Means by “National Interest”
Many applicants misunderstand “national interest.”
USCIS is not looking for good intentions or personal career growth. They want to see measurable value to the United States.
This usually means showing:
• A clear problem your work addresses
• Why the U.S. benefits from your solution
• Evidence that you’re well-positioned to execute it
National interest must be explained and proven, not assumed.
I’ll explain how officers evaluate this in simple terms in future posts.
Portland Maine Field office
My EB-1A I-485 (ROW) case was recently transferred from NBC to the Portland, Maine Field Office (POM).
The interview is waived, and the case is under paper adjudication.
I’m trying to understand recent timelines or experiences for EB-1 / EB-based I-485 cases at Portland, ME FO — especially after transfer from NBC.
If anyone has gone through a similar transfer or has insight into typical processing time ranges, I’d really appreciate it.
Thank you!

Why Many EB2-NIW Petitions Get Denied
One of the biggest reasons EB2-NIW petitions fail is poor case framing.
USCIS does not approve cases based on effort—they approve based on evidence, clarity, and national benefit.
Common issues I see:
• Vague proposed endeavors
• Weak connection to U.S. national interest
• Poorly written recommendation letters
• No clear implementation plan
A strong case is strategic, not rushed.
I’ll be breaking these down in upcoming posts.
