USCIS news
anyone seen this post from the USCIS today? what does that mean for us?

From now on, an alien who is in the U.S. temporarily and wants a Green Card for permanent residency must return to their home country to apply, except in extraordinary circumstances.
This policy allows our immigration system to function as the law intended instead of incentivizing loopholes. When aliens apply from their home country, it reduces the need to find and remove those who decide to slip into the shadows and remain in the U.S. illegally after being denied residency.
Nonimmigrants, like students, temporary workers, or people on tourist visas, come to the U.S. for a short time and for a specific purpose. Our system is designed for them to leave when their visit is over. Their visit should not function as the first step in the Green Card process.
Following the law allows the majority of these cases to be handled by the U.S. Department of State at U.S. consular offices abroad, as was designed to be the intended process. And it frees up limited USCIS resources to focus on processing other cases that fall under our purview, including visas for victims of violent crime and human trafficking, naturalization applications, and other priorities.
These changes will help make our system fairer and more efficient.
Any thoughts on USCIS new Memorandum regarding Adjustment of Status?

New USCIS Policy
USCIS just came out with a new policy today that those that are adjusting status from tourism and students visa would have to go back to their country to reapply (consular processing)... this is crazy and unnecessary: https://x.com/uscis/status/2057825189035999517?s=46&t=cU0q5vhPi6xvhQNShuuYhQ
How does this affect we VAWA folk
Timeline following the Green Card interview
Hi Lawfully community,
I have a question about the timeline after an I-485 interview.
After about 15 months of waiting for my green card case, I decided to file a writ of mandamus due to a family emergency situation. After that, USCIS scheduled my interview.
The interview went very smoothly and quickly. It took about 20 minutes for my three dependents and about 20 minutes for me as the principal applicant. At the end of the interview, the officer said that he would process the case as quickly as possible and issue a decision ASAP.
After the interview, my status changed to: “Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed.”
Has anyone had a similar experience? How long did it take to receive a decision after this status update?

Hi everyone,
I wanted to ask if anyone here has the same case as mine or is dealing with the same service center.
Has anyone experienced something similar? How long did it take?
Thank you in advance for sharing your experience.
