Timeline following the Green Card interview
Hi Lawfully community,
I have a question about the timeline after an I-485 interview.
After about 15 months of waiting for my green card case, I decided to file a writ of mandamus due to a family emergency situation. After that, USCIS scheduled my interview.
The interview went very smoothly and quickly. It took about 20 minutes for my three dependents and about 20 minutes for me as the principal applicant. At the end of the interview, the officer said that he would process the case as quickly as possible and issue a decision ASAP.
After the interview, my status changed to: “Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed.”
Has anyone had a similar experience? How long did it take to receive a decision after this status update?

@F A Thank you for your wishes. Interview was at Fairfax, VA office.

@F A My WOM was filed in federal court on February 16. The U.S. Attorney’s Office received the summons and complaint on February 18. After that, USCIS scheduled my I-485 interview on April 8, and the interview took place on May 15.

@Mo Wian Thank you very much. Of course, the I-485 form includes trigger questions that directly relate to your response from the I-589 form.
If I recall correctly, there are questions at numbers 25, 27, 28, 29, and 71. These questions hold significant importance and are directly related to the I-589 form.
