Case transferred???
So I chatted with Emma today regarding my son 130 which was at Texas service centre. The rep told me that the case was transferred to NBC from September. I am in the US filing AOS and my child is outside of the country and his being filed for my husband. The rep said that it was transferred because they may want to do an interview. Is it my interview they are referring to? How does this work? I'm confused because I thought it would be approved and then send to the NVC for interview to be scheduled in my home country.
VAWA on your own
Hi.
Has anyone filed VAWA on their own?
I’m pretty sure I no longer have an attorney, he never answers the phone/text/emails. filed a claim on BBB and now he calls to have a meeting over the phone - possibly to tell me he will no longer be representing me. He “sent” the documents but I’m not sure what he sent, so… Just in case, can I filed it on my own? anyone with successful overcome?
ss number
everyone,
suggestion:
if you have enough documents to get ss number after getting married even you don’t have green card or waiting for green card ( ask ss for documents needed) you can go to ss and get your number right away. ss number is very important and you will need it when you apply for green card especially marriage based for your joint account like taxes, bank etc as evidence for your bona fide marriage.
my experience:
ss only ask me for my I94 , passport, marriage certificate and my husband ID. they also ask me for NOA as Evidence that USCIS received my application. and I said I don’t file it yet. then they give my my ssn number. they only ask me to come back once I got my greencard to update my status with them.
the important thing is you have already your ss number with you.
I got my ss number in Louisiana and my friend did the same thing in North Carolina.
this is only for people who living in the state that will allow you to get ss number even without green card or waiting for green card.
