Can congressman speed up green card process?
hello everyone! 👋
I have a question regarding the congressman.
I have filed a form I-485 which is taking very long to be processed, however it’s not out of the ridiculous processing times which is 38 months 🙆🏻
I’m wondering, if there are people here who have asked the congressman for help with I-485 after asylum approval (or other case)? 📂
I’m concerned if:
1. the congressman is able to help?
2. how long does it take for him/her to get back to me with an answer?
3. does asking congressman to help creates an “Expedit request” inquiry on my case?
4. what info will I get after congressman reviews the case (if it’s within process times frames)?
5. any personal experience if you did ask congressman for help will be appreciated!!!

To Everyone using lawfully. I see many posts where folks are successful in getting their case expedited but when someone asks how or what was the reason one used they go cold and not answer. Please don’t be this person. Everyone using the app and going through the Life and Times of USCIS knows how hard it is right now. EB3 PD current but still waiting i-485
My priority date is current since October when it was transferred to NBC. Its been almost 60 days and USCIS doesn’t give me any updates or adjudication on my case. Anyone else had to wait that long when your PD is current to be adjudicated or schedule an interview?

No update when received I-485 Medical RFE
Hi all,
I got medical RFE for my I-485 application but the USCIS didn’t update this event to the tracking system. And the RFE was sent from New York FO, so clearly my case has been transferred from NBC to NY FO but this event wasn’t updated either. I’ve submitted my medical about 10 days ago, still no update or receipt.
Should I be worried? Does anyone have similar experience too? #I485 #RFE

VAWA while I-485 was pending
Hi guys! I just wanna know your experience please. I have I-130 and I-485 with my ex since last year. Both case are never withdrawn and I asked to hold my I-485. This year, I filed for VAWA. So do you think they use PD of I-130 for my VAWA? I have heard that we can ask to transfer but I’m not sure my lawyer did or not or USCIS will automatically do that. Thanks for sharing!

International Travel during i485 processing
I have an approved i140 and my i485 is pending with USCIS. I have not yet received the Advance Parole card.
My L1 petition is approved and I also have a Dropbox appointment in Dec. can I travel to my home country for stamping and come back on visa while the i485 is pending. Need suggestions whether this would impact my ongoing i485 case.

I have been legally residing in the United States since 2000 under J1, H1 visas and I had a work based I485 adjustment of status pending since 2007.
Recently I had applied for a renewal of my work permit based on my I485 Adjustment of Status and I got the attached notices from USCIS that my I765 and I131 is denied due to the underlying I485 being not available.
I checked with EMMA and they told me that it is administratively closed on 11/11/2021 and I have until 11/30/2022 to request to reopen it. One EMMA Rep told me that nothing is wrong, please ask USCIS to reopen it. Me or my attorney do not have a reason why it was administratively closed as we did not receive it. I am not in removal proceedings yet.
My attorney's are concerned that if I request USCIS to open it without knowing why it was administratively closed they might deny it due to an issue in my situation. In 2014, I pleaded guilty to a USC 1001 Federal Felony Charge. for a business dealing in 2008. My wife is a LPR and she will be eligible to be a US Citizen in 2026.
The Help I need:
Can someone please recommend whether I should request USCIC to reopen my I485? If yes what are the chances of a denial. #I485 Administratively Closed.

hello everyone!
i have some questions, so I filed my I-485 in July 2021 and did biometric in October 2021 and my case has been showing as case is actively reviewed since then. and my I-130 my husband (USC) filed for me in June 2021 online standalone and I filed inquiry case outside of normal processing time last month because it was showing as case was recieved for more than a year.
but today I got an update on both my I-130 and I-485 ( they transferred both case to Montgomery I have no idea when ) for I-130 is showing as actively reviewed BUT they sent out approval notice when I looked at documents section on USCIS account. and my I-485 is showing as actively reviewed AGAIN but as of 11/10/2022 and they sent out REF for my medical form. does this mean something? is I-130 got approved but why its showing as actively reviewed? Do I need to send them approval notice for I-130 too?

question about filing form i765 for OPT with pending marriage I485 and I765
I am under F1 status currently. I have already filed marriage-based I485 and I765 and they are pending. But I received a job offer and want to start working ASAP, so I apply for OPT. There is this question 12 on the I765 form: "have you previously filed form I765?" Should I answer 'yes' here and explain my marriage-based pending I765 in the attachment? Based on previous posts it seems applying for OPT is feasible under this case, but I am not sure how to correctly fill OPT I765 without affecting my pending I485 application.
