EB1C Interview Experience
Hello All,
I wanted to share my experience from my EB1C I-485 interview:
Country of Birth: India
Case Category: EB1C
Priority Date: March 2019
I-485 Receipt Date: February 24, 2025
Spouse’s Combo Card Received: June 9, 2025
Interview Letter Received: First week of July 2025
Interview Date & Time: July 31, 2025, at 8:30 AM EST
We were instructed to arrive at least 30 minutes early. Upon arrival, officers checked our interview appointment letter and a valid photo ID before letting us in. We then went through a security screening process similar to what you'd experience at an airport.
After clearing security, we proceeded to the reception desk. There, we submitted our interview letter and photo IDs again. The receptionist took a photo of each applicant and scanned the index fingers of both hands. Once that was done, we were issued a ticket number and directed to the waiting area.
When our name was called (it was also displayed on the screen in the waiting room), we were escorted to the interview room. The officer asked for original versions of the following documents:
Passports
Birth Certificates
Marriage Certificate
Current Employment Verification Letter (to confirm ongoing employment with the petitioner)
The officer began by interviewing me (the primary applicant) first, followed by my spouse. The questions were based on the I-485 application and included:
Full Name, Date of Birth, Father’s and Mother’s Names
Spouse’s Name and Date of Birth
Do you or your spouse have any other names or DOBs used previously (e.g., before marriage)?
Current residential address
Size of the household
Household income
Address history since 2020 (in chronological order)
Highest education degree
Current Job Title, Company Name, and Work Location
Who filed the petition
All standard Yes/No questions listed on the I-485
My attorney joined via phone throughout the interview.
👉 Note: We were required to carry a properly filled and signed Form G-28, which includes the attorney’s full details, signature, and date—as well as the applicant’s signature and date.
Key Notes:
1. One of my Yes/No responses differed from what was on the original I-485. The officer allowed me to correct the response and sign electronically on a tablet to confirm the update.
2. Even if there are no corrections, both applicants are still required to sign the I-485 attestation confirming that all the information is accurate and up to date.
3. The officer asked if we had any other names or DOBs used previously. For my spouse, the answer was yes, and she provided her maiden name (name prior to marriage).
4. After reviewing all documents in hand, the officer asked if I had anything additional to submit. I responded that everything had already been submitted. My attorney added, "Please let us know if anything appears missing or if you'd like us to provide anything now." The officer responded, “It looks like I have everything here—nothing to worry about.”
At the end, my attorney inquired about the status. The officer stated she would review the case by the end of the day and make a decision. Since the priority date is current and visa numbers are available, she didn’t anticipate any issues and mentioned we should expect an update within a couple of days.
✅ My recommendation to all applicants: Please go through your I-485 thoroughly before your interview. Be familiar with every section, especially your address history, employment history, and Yes/No questions.
I’m sharing this based on my interview experience this morning to help others in this group who will go through the process in the future. Don’t lose hope—together we can make this journey successful. Positive outcomes are possible for all of us.

USPS stuck returning green card to USCIS (>15 days) — anyone seen this?
My green card was mailed on July 5 to my old address in Long Beach, CA.
It was forwarded the same day, and USPS has been routing it through Los Angeles → Anchorage → Kansas City KS → Kansas City MO.
Still says “In Transit to Next Facility” as of July 22 — no “Returned to Sender” yet.
Has anyone else had their green card get stuck like this during return? How long did it take to reach USCIS again? #usps #uscis #greencard #EB1C
EB1C 140 RFE managerial roles
I got an RFE on my 140 recently, it’s asking for additional evidence that both foreign and U.S. positions are managerial roles.
I was a people manager abroad and now a functional manager after moving to U.S.
Abroad: I provided the evidence that i participated in interview, hire, fire, task deligation, manage budget, give performance feedback. org chart. reports resume
US: org chart. Indirect reports. evidence of interview records, attend board meetings, job descriptions
Can anyone give me some suggestions on what other documents I should provide?

EB1C Processing - I-140 Approved and EAD/AP Timeline Inquiry
My I-140 was approved on January 31, and I applied for I-485, I-765, and I-131 on February 24. I completed my biometrics yesterday. Can anyone share insights on the typical timeline for receiving a decision on the EAD, AP and I-485? When can I expect to receive the final decision for these applications?

Here we go...finally it's approved!!!
and finally it happened to me as well!!!
as everyone mentioned here it's been a rollercoaster journey and it's a great relief now. few points to mention on CRP cases, there is no specific pattern to track the progress. my case was always in NBC not moved to any local/non local office. my local office average wait time was 32 months but it got processed in 5 months once in CRP. I tried reaching out to USCIS via congressman, whitehouse etc...but response was always same. so lesson learned is patience is the key and keep hope
let me know if there any questions incan help with. Good luck everyone #eb1c #india #crp

My wife has received I-512T now while rest of our family members received I-512L earlier. All of our’s I485 applications are in CRP status and awaiting for final action date to become current. Why did my wife alone has received diff type of travel authorization document. What should be we aware of? Is this a problem?

L1A > EB1C : Approved EAD(i-765) and AP(i-131), pending i-140/i-485.... what if I get fired?
I currently have an L1A visa.
I've have an in-process green card EB1C as follows:
- approved EAD form i-765,
- approved AP i-131
- pending i-140
- pending i-485
If my employer terminates my job, where my L1A visa is linked to, can I look for a different job in the USA with my EAD approved form i-765? Do I have some time limitation? Thanks!

Texas Service Center timeline
We filed an EBC1 green card application (multinational manager) on February 8. Concurrent I-140 and I-485. Priority date February 8, 2023, current. Country Spain. I-140 approved on September 4, no news since then and apparently the case is stuck in TSC. Last update was March 23, fingerprints taken. I would like to understand what we could really expect and if is possible that the case was transferred without notice. We need to receive the RFE for medical records, they were not submitted together with the filing
Someone else in this boat stuck at TSC? is something that I am missing and that is why they are not transferring the I-140 approved to a field office?#EB1C#TSC
