Houston Field Office – Marriage AOS (I-485) – Interview Waiver Experiences?
Hello again,
I just confirmed through a live agent that my I-485 has been transferred to the Houston Field Office, and I’m trying to understand Houston FO patterns specifically regarding approval without interview.
Here are my case details:
• I-485 filed: May 8, 2023
• Marriage-based AOS (U.S. citizen spouse)
• I-130 already approved
• No RFE at any point
• No interview scheduled so far
• Step 3 (Interview) marked complete in myProgress
• Currently at Step 4 (Decision)
• Marriage now over 2 years (eligible for 10-year GC)
• Extensive joint evidence submitted (financials, lease, insurance, travel, affidavits, etc.)
• Lawful entry on B2; later overstayed
• Removal proceedings were terminated and IJ order was submitted
Has anyone with a similar profile at Houston FO been approved without interview?
If so:
• How long after transfer?
• Did you receive any warning signs before approval?
• Did Houston FO waive your interview?
Appreciate any Houston-specific insights 🙏

I am the primary applicant for VAWA (Form I-360).
Hi guys! this not for me but a friend who needs answers as soon as possible
I am the primary applicant for VAWA (Form I-360).
Hi guys!
My son (13 years old) is included in my case as a derivative child.
We filed Form I-360 and I-485 in May 2025, and received the receipts in November 2025.
Currently, the I-360 is not yet approved.
However, USCIS scheduled an interview for the I-485 not for me, but for my 13-year-old son on February 9, 2026 in Sacramento.
Please advise:
• Is this normal for a VAWA case?
• What is the purpose of interviewing a child?
• Does this indicate anything negative for the I-360?
• And what should we expect at such an interview?
Uploading 2025 joint tax return as unsolicited evidence while NOID response is pending — good or bad idea?
Hi everyone,
I’m currently waiting on USCIS to review my NOID response for an I-130. The NOID response was already submitted and acknowledged, and there’s no new RFE or action requested at this time.
We’ve now filed our 2025 joint federal tax return, and I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to upload it as unsolicited evidence to show continued bona fide marriage, or if it’s better to leave the case alone while it’s under review.
For those who’ve been through NOIDs or extended reviews:
Did you upload updated joint tax returns while waiting?
Did it help, hurt, or make no difference?
Any risk of slowing things down or reopening review?
Looking for real experiences — especially from people who had heavy scrutiny or NOIDs.
Thanks in advance.
