EB2 NIW and F1: any risks?
I submit my EB2 NIW application in December 2025 regular processing. I am originally from one of the 75 countries and I am currently on a work permit in Canada. I am considering going for an F1 visa to get my PHD in the USA. Would applying for F1 with a pending NIW cause any risks ? was anyone successful in obtaining an F1 while their NIW was still pending? Thanks

Hi all,
I’ve been having a hard time getting the Chicago Field office to re-open my administratively closed case after terminating my court case. I sent a cover letter to the field office since November and my case is still closed. I was wondering if anyone else has been in the situation before and weather or not I should just re-file another I-485 application?

Anyone waiting N-400 Interview Schedule in LA?
I applied for I-751 on Oct-29, 2024 and N-400 on Oct-24, 2025 based on 3 years marriage rule. I know three people that applied N-400 in June 2025 and got oath ceremon in November 2025 (super fast!). Twi if them also had pending I-751 case, just like mine. I am wondering when I will have mine completed. Because I really want to have it by summer and have some traveling abroad. Let’s share N-400 schedules and information all together.

EB2-NIW layoff while I485 pending for less than 180 days
I am an EB2-NIW applicant. My I140 was approved in Apr 2024 (petitioner: employer) and I filed my AOS in Jan 2026 i.e. it's been pending for less than 180 days. I'm curious what happens when I get laid off now? My employer's immigration firm told me while my I-140 will remain approved, I'll still need a new I-140, and that I can remain in the US without a job but there are "many specifics and details" that can affect this (didn't expand further). It's different from what I read, curious how true this is.
When I reached out to NIW attorneys (eg. Chen), everyone answered they only take new cases and mine is not their area of expertise.
