Case Processing
Current EAD expiring soon
Hello Team
I am currently on an OPT STEM extension, and my EAD is set to expire in a month. My green card application (I-485) is pending, and I am concerned about the timeline for my Employment Authorization Document (EAD) based on the I-485. I want to understand what steps I should take to avoid any Employment gaps and whether there are any options available.
Question
Given that my OPT STEM EAD expires in a month and my I-485 is still pending, what should I do to ensure continuous Employment Authorization? My PD is May 2023( current PD as of now)
Thanks

hello everyone
I contacted the congressman to see the status of my case and after a wait of 45 days he emailed me yesterday I’m sharing it below. also I really want to know if someone has any information regarding the interview process what questions they ask and is it related to your case if someone has gone through the interview please please respond here it would be a great help . I’m really tensed.
email from congressman’s office
Hello,
I trust this email finds you well. We have received the following response from USCIS:
"We have confirmed that the cases remain pending and will be scheduled for an eligibility interview with the San Jose Field Office (SNJ) when an interview slot becomes available. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will contact your constituent directly when an interview is scheduled or if additional information is requested prior to the interview.
Case status may be monitored online at
I hope this information was helpful. Please feel free to contact our office if you do not hear back from the agency in the next 180 days. Please let me know if there is anything else we can do to assist you in the meantime.
God is also in control.
I know all of us or many of you feel tired or drained about this whole immigrantion experience but just pray that God continues to do what he needs to do! I pray that God will give us peace and patience for what we cannot control and that he blesses us so huge that oneday our struggle and suffering will be just a faded memory.
N-400 Interview Translator
Hi,
Hope some one has an answer to my question or have been through it so know the answer.
I found out today that my mother has the N-400 interview scheduled for end of April 2025 at Philadelphia PA and was wondering if I can accompany her to be her interpreter to translate the question to her native tongue as her English is not that great.
I searched and the answer I got is Yes but at the discretion of the USCIS officer.
Anyone who can shed some light on this matter is greatly appreciated
Thank you
RB

Documentarily Qualified Question
Hi everyone,
My EB2 NIW petition was approved in February 2024, and I received an email from the NVC that says I became documentarily qualified in May 2024.
I added my newborn to the application recently, and I have already sent all the required payments and supporting documentation to the NVC.
Now my question is, does anyone know if the recent addition of my baby will change the date I became documentarily qualified (DQ) and potentially delay our interview date OR will the DQ date remain the same?
My understanding is that the US Consulates schedule interview on a first come, first serve basis when a case becomes current (i.e., they use the DQ date)
For context, my priority date is August 2023, and I'm not residing in the US.
Here is the latest information on the website of the US Consulate Office in Montreal:
"As of March 3, 2025, most Immediate Relative and fiancé(e) visa cases being scheduled for interview in Montreal were documentarily complete at the National Visa Center in November 2024; most Family Preference cases with visa numbers available that are being scheduled for interview were documentarily qualified in January 2025; and most Employment cases scheduled for interview were documentarily complete in March 2024."
Green card
Today, I am officially a Green Card holder! This journey has been long and challenging—I’ve been through so much mentally and emotionally, even facing hospitalization multiple times. I started this process on September 21, and today, I finally got my Green Card approved without an interview. I want to thank all of you for your support, guidance, and encouragement. I truly appreciate it.#485

I-751 Vermont
Married to citizen. Filed I-751 together. Applied from Ilinois, Currently in Vermont Service Center. I understood its going to be a long ride, I would like to know types of cases and their timelimes. Originally from India, as Indians do not have dual citizenship, I have mixed feelings about N-400. As our marriage is legit and happy, not worrying about the removal of conditions, but the waiting period is kind of worrying. Any advices/concerns?

denial
Good morning everyone, I've been married for over two years and attended two immigration interviews, the first one regular and the second a waiver. After two years, I received a denial due to interview discrepancies and lack of evidence (the usual reason), so I still haven't received the I-130s that explain why my cases were denied. The problem is that the 33 days allowed for an appeal have passed (and still we didn't receive any I130). But without the I-130, I understand there's not much I can do. My question is: Can I resubmit my I-130? At this point in my marriage, I have much more evidence. Unfortunately, our financial situation wasn't very good at first, so we had a rental agreement, properties, or something in our names. But things have improved a lot. It hasn't been easy; it's been a dark road. The lawyer recommends we wait until our court date arrives. But what about being illegal all this time, given everything that's going on? Has anyone been through something similar? (Please refrain from responding nonsensically; we're not having a good time.) Thanks.
