Case Processing
Anyone who got their EAD after April 2025 actually got their SSN quickly by applying in person at the local SSA office?
Anyone who got their EAD after April 2025 actually got their SSN quickly by applying in person at the local SSA office? I’ve seen lots of people lately said they cannot get their SSN or have to wait for a long time even by going to the SSA office.
NVC
Hey Guys! I'd like for anyone to share how long it took to receive the NVC welcome letter once their case status updated to "sent to Department of State". I'm not finding much info on this via internet searches and thought I'd gain insight if people share their timelines/experiences. Also, after receiving the welcome letter, how long did it take to get DQ status?
Still waiting for update
My I-140 petition was denied, and the letter of denial contained numerous errors. Consequently, my lawyer initiated an appeal, which was accepted a few months later. I subsequently received a letter confirming the approval of my appeal. However, if you refer to my timeline, I failed to receive any updates regarding the appeal, and my I-140 petition remains denied for over a year. Is anyone else facing a similar situation?

Just Venting
I am just venting about my spouse in a place I know that he cannot see. So, our case was approved one year ago in May 2024 after waiting two years for the I-130 to be accepted. I immediately submitted all of my NVC documentation, however my husband screwed around for months getting his documents ready. Every time I’d check, which was weekly, he’d have some excuse. Because of his laziness, he didn’t submit all of his required documents until April 2025!! Nearly one whole year!! We just got DQ on May 5 for Montreal and of course we’re going to have to wait at least another 4 months for an interview date. After this is all said and done, it’ll have been a four year process. Am I wrong for being angry at him? I’ve never told him this either because what’s the point? I’m just tired of my life being on hold because of him.

Actively Reviewing
Hello again everyone I’m so anxious, I just received one email each I’m guessing for each form (I-485 & I-130). They both says, “we’ve taken action on your case” I can only see the I-130 now because my husband is at work and to log on to see both responses I have to get the code they’ll send to his cell. This is driving me crazy lol. When I logged on it just shows, “Case is being actively review.” They acknowledged our RFEs on 5/13 so I’m just hoping that this is it folks. It’s been such a stressful journey. I’ll keep you all updated. Also at our interview, things take a surprising turn due to info my husband “forgot” to mentioned when we applied which was one of the main reasons for our RFEs. We had every supporting documents for our I-130 that the lady didn’t look at and I think it’s all because she really was being unprofessional, there was a power outage the whole time and she was just pissed-not more than me lol. We got a lawyer, resent everything along with RFE for his I-485. I promise you guys I will give you the full story to see if it can ease somebody’s mind who is going through the same or near same situation. I almost gave up.
JUST FINISHED OUR INTERVIEW
we just concluded our interview , my PD is December 16 2024 … the interview officer was so friendly and coincidentally the officer is from same country as myself , my wife and our Attorney, I had my masters in United Kingdom and the officer also had his masters in United Kingdom, we had a lot in common that we spent more time discussing about our experiences… he went through our file and found out ne and my wife have travelled a lot while I was living in United Kingdom as she fly to UK to visit me and we been to Germany together, travel to Albania, Belgium etc so the relationship is rich with pictures and tickets , there’s one tricky format he applied, he tear a piece of paper and gave me and my wife separately with a pen , then ask us to write where we spent our valentines, then he took the paper and compare the answer, he asked us to who cooks at home I said I’m the one , then he asked us to write what we ate last night on the piece of paper , then he compared it , then he asked the colour of our sheets , I messed up right there and he laughed and said he know men are not good with colours at the end of the day we continue having conversation and he said everything is good and it’s our first marriage and the case is straightforward, he told us that our case has been approved instantly that we should expect the card in the mail … when we came out my attorney said this is the easiest case she ever handled and since she started my case that she found me to be lucky in everything…
