Questions about my A5 status to a green card.
Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone here might have some insight.
I came to the U.S. through an I-730 follow-to-join petition and I have an A5 card. I’ve already submitted my I-485, and it has been about 450 days.
When I ask EMMA, the response is always the same:
“Thank you. I am showing this case is in process at the WASHINGTON FIELD OFFICE. I am showing this case is processing normally. It is not taking longer than expected. Nothing is outstanding nor is anything needed at this time.”
My case has been at this field office for almost a year now, so I’m wondering how much longer the wait might be.
Also, will the recent asylum pause affect the processing of my green card? I’m not from any of the 19 countries on the list.
Any advice or similar experiences would be really appreciated!

Hello,
NVC approved my papers October 29th and it said they will work with the embassy in Mumbai (India) to schedule an interview for my husband.
any one have any idea when i will be expected to hear back from them with the interview date? its been more than a month and am hoping he will get a date for sometime in January.
USCIS Put My Case in Administrative Processing… y’all ever dealt with this?
“USCIS just responded through my congressional inquiry. They said my I-485 is stuck in administrative processing and there’s no timeline. Anyone been through this part before? How long did yours take? And did anything help move your case forward? Just trying to understand what usually happens next.”
RECEIVED THE SAME NOID TWICE
I received a NOID 7 months a ago for bonafide of relationship and responded within two weeks. USCIS has been radio silent since then, till the month of December when my case went to actively being reviewed. December 2nd I saw an update that said NOTICE OF USCIS ACTION WAS MAILED and today I saw the same NOID that I got and responded to seven months ago in the document tab. This one is due in January with the same 30 days to respond, it is basically a copy and paste of the last one except with different dates. So I’ll be responding to them again!
NVC
I got my I-797 stating that USCIS has done their part and any further questions ask NVC. That means that USCIS sent my case to NVC right? I haven’t gotten anything else since that 797 paper. No email or welcome letter. is anyone else in the same boat. could the government shut down effected this? #nationalvisacenter #NVC #USCIS
