NBC vs FO

hi folks! Can i-485 be approved at NBC instead of FO? My dependent just got their Combo card (141+765) approved while our 485 is still pending and our case is still at NBC. a friend just got their I-485 approved from a FO (EB2-NIW)

Yes. The NBC can approve the I-485 without transferring the case to a Field Office; the NBC approves it directly. This happens when all checks are completed and USCIS determines there is no need for an interview or further review at a local office.

I’m the same boat. my dependent got the combo yet, and I didn’t receive anything so far. No updates, since biometrics.

Yes, but the current trend is they are transferring cases to field offices.

my case was sended to non local FO from nbc but after 1,5 month transferred back to nbc. still wait
