changing my last name to my husband’s in the middle of my GC process
is it ok to take my husband’s last name in the middle of the GC process? I already have my work permit and social but those have my last name. will this affect anything? do I update uscis? any idea guys? I just want to know since my name change appointment with Social security is in 2 days. if you guys have any info on this please share.

I wish my experience will be useful for other ppl.
after waiting for over year, we made mistakes by didn’t send everything in the same time during USCIS request more evidence. That we got denied. So if you guys got requests evidence I recommend “do everything follow instructions” for preventing denying your case.
Alright if you got denied, what you have to do. please follow instructions in denial notice. (I and my husband did everything by ourselves) We did “Reopen case” ASAP. We got only response that our mail was received. One month after that, my Lawfully account and my husband got email, that show our case had movement by “case is being reviewed”. We are so happy at least we know it got progress. Then couple days after our case got approval.
I asked a lot of people who summited CR1 and had case denied about what I can do next. From their experience were helped me a lot. (All of them told me, my case was fastest approval as they know normal it took 4-6 mths after summit I-290B)
By the way, I wish whoever is struggling in the same situation as me, please don’t lose hope after following the instructions of any notice. For me, I didn’t hire any lawyer for my case however my husband wanted to but my idea is not too difficult to deal with.

Hello, I have a question regarding the I-864, So basically there is a petitioner and joint sponsor. Now the joint sponsor must upload tax returns and proof of funds. my question is if the petitioner doesn’t pay taxes or hasn’t in a very long time what should they do. Because on the i864 the is a section for that. I know the petitioner still has to fill out an I-864 but I want to know if they also still have to upload everything else regarding the financial part. I’d really appreciate it if someone could help me out. Thank you.

we got approved May 2024, why has it been more then a month and no letter, others have been getting their letters after USCIS approval with days!! and I’m waiting weeks, unacceptable
