Case Processing
Re-entering the US
Hi everyone,
I just arrived at JFK on August 26 after spending 64 days in my home country.
The officer took me to secondary inspection, where he asked me detailed questions about my entire history, including my VAWA case, how I obtained my B-2 visa, why I overstayed, why I got married, and many other questions. He also asked for proof and pictures related to my case.
He asked me how I had suffered physically and emotionally because of my partner. The officer conducted a detailed interview that lasted about one hour.
I answered all the questions one by one, calmly and honestly, and stayed consistent with my answers.
Finally, the officer said that there is a lot of VAWA fraud going on, which is why they are asking everyone detailed questions about their VAWA cases.
He saved all my information in the system, took my fingerprints and picture, and told me that the next time I return to the U.S., the information he saved in the system will help, and I might not be asked as many questions.
He stamped my passport and allowed me to enter the U.S.
I also asked him about the new law from August 13 regarding the 3-year or 10-year rule. He said that it only applies to DACA recipients.
Family petition
Granted Asylum back in 2025 and I submitted my Family petition I-730 December-8- 2025.
my questions
1-what will be the next steps?
2-How much time it will take to bring them here in US?
3-is there any chance to expedite this process?
4-Does pause effected the asylum based family petitions yes or no ?(because) chat gbt says asylum based family petitions are based are on humanitarian based.

Correspondence was received
Guys, what does it mean when you receive an update on your Form I-360 saying that correspondence was received? Neither my lawyer nor I have sent anything to USCIS recently. The last thing we submitted was in October 2022, when we responded to an RFE regarding a police report for good moral character. USCIS acknowledged receiving that response at the time.
I’m wondering if this new “correspondence received” update could be related to the RFE response we sent back in 2022—maybe an officer has started working on my case and updated the system. Has this happened to anyone else? I filed my I-360 and I-485 both in July 2022
1-130 delayed: Both Visa Bulletin charts are current for my priority date, but still no approval after 6 years
Hi everyone, I filed my I-130 petition 6 years ago. According to the Visa Bulletin, my priority date is already covered by both charts (Dates for Filing and Final Action Dates), but my petition still hasn't been approved by USCIS. Has anyone experienced something similar or knows why this might be happening? Any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated!
