Case Approved .. From F1 to LPR
Got married in 2017. I was a sophomore in College and my wife live with her mum in a different state. I was on full ride scholarship, so I stayed on campus. I spent all my vacations at my in-law’s( my wife’s mum) house unless I had an internship in a different state during the summer. I was very young and I didn’t know much about the evidence required for interview, especially when not living together. I overlooked certain things and I thought I was going to have a smooth interview because I was in school, but I didn’t. I didn’t really have any strong bonafide evidence between 2017 and 2020 .I filed for AOS in October 2020 and I have shared my timeline. To my fellow F1 students who are staying on campus and not living together with their spouse, try as much as possible to gather a lot of evidence you can, especially proving that y’all see each other frequently or y’all stay connected. My wife didn’t get the chance to visit me in school because his brother is disabled and my wife usually take care of him. The IO even requested for toll receipts to prove that I have been driving back and forth to visit my spouse. I was like “ who keeps toll receipts” . I didn’t know toll receipts was gonna be that important. I got an rfe two months after my interview requesting for more bonafide documents. my lawyer responded and explained my situation and almost 90 days afterwards, my case was approved. (No joint lease, no joint bills but separate bills with individual names, different phone plans,no joint health insurance, only 2020 joint tax). I was worried that my case wasn’t strong because when I read the kind of evidence people submit here, I felt like I didn’t submit anything. But God being so good, my case has been approved. Have been married for almost 5 years now( 2017-2022).

Timeline National Benefits/Denver,CO
I just wanted to share my timeline! Thanks to God this is over and I’m starting this new journey. Keep praying and stay positive that sooner than later you’ll get yours. @Denver, CO/NationalBenefits
Couple weeks After the interview I got my GC I the mail, I had to go to the Social Security Ad. Office to apply for my SSN. it took around 2 weeks after I applied to get it in the mail. I never received an EAD and that case# was closed weeks later because I already had my GC and SSN.
it felt like years but at the end of the day it wasn’t too bad/long.
My advice: Just be patient, call USCIS as many times as you need to, if you have any questions ASK. Save every dcument that you send them REF/Proves/etc.

Finally!
RFE was issued on August 10, 2021, from Queens Field Office. RFE response was delivered to the field office on August 25, 2021, but the i-485 status didn't change after the biometric. It remained "Fingerprints Were Taken." RFE letter gave the deadline to submit RFE response by November 05, 2021, but encouraged to submit it by September 30, 2021, to be adjudicated within this Fiscal Year 2021. It's been over 60 days since I haven't received any updates. So, I raised a service request on October 25, 2021, and received a response on November 02, 2021, saying that "the field office did not receive any RFE responses. Your case is currently in suspense or on hold until receiving my response."
However, I sent my RFE response again through FedEx, which was delivered on November 19, 2021, but USCIS online account status remained "Fingerprints Were Taken." Still no updates from the Queen Field Office!
On December 27, 2020, I raised another service request. They replied, Your application is currently pending review. We regret that we are not able to give you a specific time frame for when a decision will be made on your case."
After raising multiple service requests, finally, the case has been approved!
