NO INTERVIEW
Name change on EAD Card
Hello everyone, I am on F1 visa with a 1 year valid EAD Card. I got divorced in my home country and I am having my all objective evidence that show I got divorced (court decree, translated in English and approved by Notary and Consulate)
My last name is supposed to be changed to my maiden last name after divorce. My new passport shows my maiden last name. When I called USCIS to ask how to notify them of my divorce, they told me that I have to re-submit my EAD and upload my further evidence.
Please advise me if you guys had experienced the same situation. #divorce #ead #namechange
It was a Christmas Miracle!
I applied Aug 9, 2024 and everything has been smooth since then. Within a month I recieved my work permit, and in less than 4 months I got approved for my green card without an interview! Couldn’t be more thankful! Does anybody know how long will it take to receive the green card from the time that it was accepted?

merry screwme/us
day after xmas nvc message saying case # was changed along with the interview location. in a different COUNTRY!!!! welcome letter said it would be at the local embassy. 80 DAYS LATER it gets changed. I knew before being approved by uscis that the local embassy wasn't doing I V interviews. so nvc just sat on our case for 80 DAYS??? now my own government is making my spouse travel ALONE twice to a country that the D.O.S. has a level 2 advisory on. uscis processing time is longer due to background checks. if that's true, why then do people need to take the time, spend the money to get a police certificate? W.T.F. doesn't a background check do that? how many people have to look over the same f#@king forms and documents that are ALREADY APPROVED by TWO different government agencies. it's total Bullsheet. and now that the location changed, how much longer is the wait going to be. 80 DAYS and counting. and you're going to tell me that NO ONE at nvc knew that embassy wasn't doing I V interviews?? Bullsheet to that too. rant over. for now.
Taking longer
Hi everyone!
I hope you are all having a great time:)
I have a question, I checked my USCIS account and I realized my I-130 progress tab says: “Your case is taking longer than we previously estimated, but it is within normal processing times.”
yesterday it said: “10 months.” but now it says that and I think it is weird because my case has been in USCIS only 126 days.
anyone know why this happened or has been through the same thing?
thanks in advance!
