Filing I-485 and I-130 Together or Renewing Work Permit?
Hello, I am currently in the process of EB-3 Unskilled, and I already have a pending I-485. However, I am now marrying a U.S. citizen and want to adjust my status through marriage.
My main question is: Should I file the I-485 and I-130 together (concurrent filing), or can I request to transfer my current I-485 to the new marriage-based process? I’ve heard that filing the I-130 separately may take longer, but I also don’t want to pay the I-485 fees again.
Additionally, I need to renew my Work Permit (EAD). If I proceed with the renewal, should I send a letter to USCIS stating that my adjustment of status will now be based on marriage?
Another concern: Can my current officer expedite my I-130 if I file it separately? I have already completed all steps of my EB-3 process, including the interview, and the only reason I didn’t receive my Green Card was the Visa Bulletin backlog. In this case, would I need to go through another interview for the marriage-based process?
Has anyone been in a similar situation or has recommendations on the best strategy to speed up the process?
NVC filing and Financial sponsorship.
NVC filing and sponsorship
I am a dual citizen of US and Canada,
I moved to US last year in September with a new position, so apparently I have income in US only from September 2024-December 2024 which shows that I don’t qualify to sponsor however I was continuously employed in Canada before moving to US, and I do have good savings(USD) and investments in mutual funds(in Canadian dollars). Also my current position I make good amount. However my attorney insisting on getting an additional sponsor which I could but I don’t want to rely on. What is the best case here how should I navigate this; also my attorney insisting on wage transcripts and tax transcripts from IRS which I don’t understand, I met IRS agent in person they have repeatedly told me that wage transcript is nothing but W-2 and tax transcript you can use 1040 (that’s what my CPA told me).
I don’t want to delay my processing for waiting on all of these documents and more importantly I have WOM prose pending too which I have to file my answer by March, initially I filed to seek relief in filing of I130 which was delayed, and I want to file in the court to retain jurisdiction to oversee the process while my application at NVC and consulate for any potential delays that I may see.
So how do I navigate this financial sponsorship thing.

hey guys so I’ve booked a return flight from Aus to Texas in July, I’m going over for 2 months to see family and spend time with the wife and kids over summer break etc, I’m wondering though, if our i130 is approved before the trip over will they give me a hard time at the airport knowing that the i130 has been approved etc?
