I-485 approved, interview waived, no EAD no AP
Hi everyone,
I finally got it. I-485 approved, interview waived. No EAD, no AP regardless of fours expedite requests for financial hardship and a job offer.
I added all the steps of the process with the dates. you can press on the visa timeline to see them.
Background:
We did the process all by ourselves, no lawyer.
I’m a French citizen married to a US citizen. We have been married for five years. We have a 4 year old child.
Adjusting status from a B1/B2 visa.
NBC
Detroit FO
If the time goes back I would never do AOS. I would rather do the normal processing through the US consulat in Paris. I couldn’t work for almost 7 months during the AOS process.
Good luck to everyone,
I-751 PD June 17th 2021 Potomac
Hi guys! Any recent I751 approvals from Potomac? Anyone knows what month is being worked on? Nope, didn’t file N400 taking it one step at a time.

Praise God We Got Through
Our process took some twists and turns but we persisted and finally got approved for the green card. praise God!!?
God was our attorney. We could not afford an attorney and did it on our own. After filing the I-485 God told us He had cancelled the interview. And He sure did. Twice we went for the marriage interview and basically didn't have one. The first time we went we were told the interview was cancelled. Why? We overlooked answering a RFE for I-130. We left feeling down but I remember the Holy Spirit said to me. "Do not speak of this to anyone. Do not speak negative." It took a lot of restraint but I did not speak about it to anyone for months. We were just coming out of a very stressful two years of tending to my father-in-law. He had a mental breakdown while waiting to receive his green card and was diagnosed with dementia. He hardly slept during the period. During the nights he did many strange things and was destructive. He would smash furniture, tear through the wall, rip out electrical outlets and basically anything he got his hands on. That caused us to go with very little sleep. Somehow in that period we overlooked a I-130 RFE in 2021. Instead of complaining or feeling sorry for ourselves, we accepted responsibility and started over the I-130 process. We did the application online and uploaded all documents at once. An apology and full explanation, with evidence, of why the RFE was not answer was also uploaded. Ten months later we were called for the interview. It really wasn't an interview. We were asked two simple questions about our relationship. And I was asked about my relationship with my stepson. I was then asked the series of questions on the I485. We gave them the most current tax return and an additional proof financial relationship. Most of the time was spent talking with the field agent. You would have taught we were old friends. Despite the approach the agent was still very professional. God had fulfilled His word to us. We did it on our own and did not understand some things but I am thankful for the journey. I learnt a whole lot from this process by reading the requirements on USCIS website and listened to the advise from several immigrants lawyers on YouTube. Especially the Boundless and McBean Immigration TV channels.
I pray 🙏🏾 your request will be approved very soon. God bless you.

RFE from Atlanta Field Office
We finally got some movement on my husbands I-485 adjusting from K-1 when we got an RFE for marriage certificate and proof of marriage (pics, joint bank accounts, health insurance, etc) on April 24, 2023. We had already sent all this stuff with the original filing but USCIS must have lost it when the case was sent to the Atlanta FO in Feb 2023. We mailed the docs they requested May 3, 2023 to the Atlanta FO. How long should we expect for his account to update showing they received the docs? FYI his PD is Nov 2021 and this is the second update we got since December 2021. The first was that they were actively reviewing the case again April 23, 2023 and then the RFE was sent the next day. What’s been your experience with RFE’s from the Atlanta FO and how long have they taken to acknowledge receipt or take action on the case? Any insight would be helpful 🙏

Mistake in responding to RFE
I filed concorently in August 2022: i130, i485, i765, i131 - my case was transferred to NBC. I submitted my affidavit of support using my mother who is an American citizen as the sole sponsor, I didn't use my wife at all.
A month after filing I got a RFE, that I didn't submit a properly signed affidavit of support - I took it as some documents are missing, I then submitted more docs: a copy of my mum's US passport, birth certificate showing our relationship, W2s and tax returns for the last 3 years, letter of employment, and signed affidavit that she knows about my marriage and she is willing to support us.
Recently, I went back to look at the RFE notice and realized it says that i need to submit a signed affidavit of support for petitional sponsor listed in i130.
My question now is:
1. Is it a must to submit an affidavit of support from my wife? as I thought that an immediate relative can be a sponsor.
2. It seems like I made a mistake in responding to the RFE by sending in more documentation in favour of my mum as my sole sponsor rather than using my wife - How do I rectify this?
PS. when I submitted the rfe, they responded saying, they find the document okay, they will reach out to me if they have any more questions. this was 7 months ago.
hey guys I have been DQ for 6 month now , I’m waiting for interviews, anyone? from Addis Ababa Ethiopia waiting for interview ?

Still nothing 😪
My husband got his work permit and travel permit approved last year right as we were moving, so that was great. But we've got nothing since then. We've tried inquiring as the 130 is past the time it's supposed to be, and the response is that it will be reviewed at same time as 485.
At least he can work now, but this just feels like it is taking forever when people filing this year and last are done with everything in 2 months??? Which I'm happy for them, but mad for us.

Interview
Guys, please insert your comments here, I am puzzled.
Emma tole me that my application is eligible for an interview (marriage base, USC spouse). Ok!
Then I asked which field office is my case at?
She goes Kendall, FL
I live in MD.
How accurate that info was?
Do I still have a chance without interview?
Approval in documents but still not reflected in status
Hi! I know that it is a normal thing to find the approval in the Documents section, even though it’s not reflected on status of the case.
Do you know if the next step (sending to NVC to receive the welcome letter in consular process) gets started when they submit the approval to documents? or it starts after the case status is updated?
How long after finding the document did the status change to approved in your cases?
thanksss!
I765 in 25 days and I485 in 43 days
Surprised and pleased how fast the approvals came. Hoping everyone would have their approvals soon too.
