n-400 decision cannot be made
I had my naturalization interview at the USCIS Holtsville office on September 22, 2025. The officer was polite and professional throughout the process. I successfully passed both the English and civics test, and the officer even congratulated me for doing well.
At the end of the interview, the officer told me that a decision could not be made at this time. I had applied for my N-400 with a fee waiver, and during the interview, the officer asked me about my income. Out of nervousness, I accidentally said that I make $70,000 a year — which was not true. I honestly don’t know how that figure came out of my mouth; it was a slip of the tongue because I was very anxious during the interview.
The officer immediately pointed it out and said something like, “If you make $70,000, then how did you qualify for a fee waiver?” That’s when I realized my mistake and quickly corrected myself, explaining that my actual income is around $15,000, not $70,000. All my submitted documents clearly show my real income, and the mistake was purely out of nervousness.
I’m still hopeful for a positive outcome and will update once I receive the final decision.

#Does anyone know what I can do in that case? I already went to my interview and when I call there they don't answer me. The agent told me that it would only take a month to make a decision and still nothing

RFE for I-864 even though eligible for 40 credits SSA waiver.
whn my wife applied for GC she qualified for I-864 waiver as she had 40 SSA credits. Has anybody faced the same issue and how do I avoid that RFE? I do have 40 credits too. should I submit I-864 instead of selecting the waiver in I-485 form while filling it up.
What difference between RTD and Reentry Permit
I applied refugee travel document (RTD) with Green Card holder. But today I got a friend who applied for Reentry Permit with GC holder too. Her permit approved and valid for 2 years and she said my RTD will validate for 1 year (I already know that). Now, I want to understand the difference. We both (she and me) applied with green card holders, let me know your experience please 🙏. Thank you 😊
Booking Visa Slot
My H-1B petition was recently approved (Oct 6, 2025), but my I-797 document may take 1-2 weeks to arrive as per my employer attorney
. I have a time-sensitive trip to India next month for my wedding, and I need to complete my DS-160 and book a visa interview soon.
My question: Can I use the petition receipt number I currently have when filling out the DS-160, or must I wait for the I-797 document and use the receipt number listed on it? Are those two numbers the same or different?
I need to know if I can submit the DS-160 and schedule my interview before the I-797 arrives.
Thanks in advance for your prompt advice!

CAN I FILE I485 IF I130 IS STILL PENDING?
I filled I130 for my father in August 2024. Yesterday I got biometrics notice. His I130 is still pending. My dad is currently in USA on tourist visa, expiring in January 2026. Can I file I485 now so he doesn’t have to leave the country or should I file after I130 approval?
