I'm going to be interviewing for citizenship next week and just found out that I might be in trouble. I have my green card since 2015. For by the past 5 years, I have spent a lot of time abroad because of my grandmother's poor health. I filed my n-400 at the time I had 28 months of physical presence. but now, when I go for an interview, I already have 33 months of permanent residence in the United States. who faced such a situation? Will they definitely refuse me or is there a chance for an approval?

For anyone filing SIJ please know that they have to approve or deny your petition within 180 of the day that was received. As well, note that “deffered action” is not granted with every approved application. However, it is rare that it gets approved without deferred action. After the petition is approved within 15 days you will get your I-797 Notice of Action. Please make a copy as this form as if something were to happen with Immigration you have legal protection from USCIS. In the notice you are going to find for how long your deffered action was approved for, with this same letter you can file your work permit. Of course, the I-765 needs to be filed separately. As of right now, I applied for mine. Still have not received the “recipient number” but this notice always takes about 5 weeks or so to be mailed.

hi guys!
our 140 got approved at NBC in February, then our case got transferred from NBC to San Fernando FO around May.
-We received a 485 medical RFE mid June.
-We sent back the medicals july 17
-My husband (petitioner) got his 485 approved July 24
-My 485 status changed to “RFE received” july 24
-My husband received actual Green Card July 31
-My status hasn’t changed in 12 days.
how long you think I will have to wait? this is giving me anxiety.
