Visiting visa while petition is in progress
Hello. I am a citizen, and I am petitioning my brother to come to this country. I want to know if while the petition is pending my brother could apply for a B1/B/2 visa to visit the country. I know the petition may take for ever befa decision is made.

NVC welcome letter
How long does it take NVC to send the welcome letter via email after getting i130 approved? It’s been a couple days now. The current status just shows Approved. The approval letter says its being sent to NVC but the status doesn’t show that its been sent to the Dept of State.
I see some people bave gotten it within 3 days and some much longer. Does it depend on the embassy?

Can you apply for a credit card with your EAD card?
Hi guys!
I have been thinking about applying for a credit card. However, I am still waiting on the approval of my I-130 and I-485. The card I am looking at says I have to be a lawful US resident. So I’m not a 100% sure if I am allowed to apply for a credit card on my own 😅 Please let me know your thoughts! Thanks!!
just got my I-485 approved right after my 1-765.
I am not sure if they will approve my I-131 since they approved the GC. if anyone knows how long after approval we will get the GC in hand.

hello everyone!
I had asked my lawyer if there was any way of getting a State ID card or even a drivers license & she said yes!
I personally have never had a drivers license, not even in my home country. The requirements in order to get a permit drivers license in the state of Florida is first passing a drug & alcohol exam: “4 hour Traffice Law and Substance Abuse Exam (TLSAE)”. It is of course with a cost, I paid around $70, including exam & delivery of the certificate once I passed.
After that exam I studied for the Written Drivers Permit Exam for my state, once I felt ready to take the test I went to my local DMV to take the exam. It was an hour long multiple choice answer exam needing a minimum of 40 correct answers & no more than 10 wrong answers if not … failed.
Now the documentation I presented to the DMV in order to take the exam were the following:
Valid passport
i-94 travel history (you can find it online)
Marriage Certificate
SSN (if you have one)
I-485 receipt notice after biometrics !! with stamp !!
I-130 receipt notice
2 forms of domicile proving your home address
After I passed the written drivers permit exam they took my picture, did a brief eye exam, signed & paid ($60) !!!
This is my personal experience, not all State are the same! Ask your lawyer if you have any more questions, im not a legal adviser haha. just wanted to share my story!!
