vawa name change
who has changed their name through vawa before green card was approved . please advise.... I want to chnage from my husband's name and same time don't want to go back my maiden for very personal reasons. so my best bet is first husband's name. I don't want my gc approved with my current hubbys name. but I don't know how to go about a name change in the middle of the process

i just wanted to share. after being receiving my combo card in the mail I found it interesting that my I-485 now has a my progress tab.
it says 3 month til decision..
current step 3 out of 4 : attend interview (if necessary)
every agent I talk to through Ask Emma says my interview has been waived back in 04/15/2023 which is 2 days after we filed for I-130.
hopefully this is true
all in all I just wanted to share my experience so far, see if any of you also been through this process.

the wait is terribly awful..
my case is officially outside normal processing time tomorrow 😩 what a disappointment .. what a bummer… They are holding my case due to stupid security checks which don’t make any sense given I have no criminal history.. absolutely unfair.. and they say they can’t give a definite answer… I’m filing mandamus writ in January even if it costs $10,000. The wait is ridiculous… The immigration system is a joke here… so frustrating

guys I need your honest advice please I’m in very stressed timeline in my life
I have reached out for an attorney to handle my case in 2019
I got married to a USC in 2018
I was in removal proceeding in 2019
reached out to a very famous and intelligent lawyer
paid almost 20k (20,000 usd )
filled I 130 in 2021
waited to get the court dismissal to file i485
we got the court dismissal on may 2022
filed for i-485 in June 2023
November 2023
got the email saying i485 administratively closed
today I got the rfe for I-130 asking previous marriage documents ( I believe which my lawyer has already attached with the application )
so I’m back to square one
wasted my time for this since 2019 to 2023
no work permit
no advance parole
already invested in this proces emotionally and monetarily 20k for lawyer plus other uscis fees
want to hear from you guys
I really need some good advice plz

824 approved! I-130 sent to NVC
we had to submit a 824 to switch from AOS to Consulate Processing. I was prepared to wait for a year for 824 to be approved but to our surprise, our I-130 updated today that it was sent to Department of State! no update on 824 status. Next is waiting for the welcome letter but also for my spouse to apply for naturalization, and upgrade next year.
