No Interview Letter Yet – PD June 15, 2021 (Nebraska Service Center)
Hi,
I’m seeking advice or similar experiences. My priority date is June 15, 2021, and my case is with the Nebraska Service Center. It has already been over 4 years, and I still haven’t received any update or interview notice.
Is this delay normal? Should I be concerned?
Case Type: \[I-485 / I-130 / Employment-based
Service Center: Nebraska
Category: EB3-other workers
PD: June 15, 2021
No RFE received. Case just says “Case Was Received” or “Actively Being Reviewed.”
Any advice would be appreciated. Is it time to submit an inquiry or contact a congressman?
Thanks in advance.
Path to U.S. Citizenship After VAWA Green Card?!
After obtaining a green card through VAWA from a U.S. citizen spouse, when am I eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship, and what are the requirements? Also, once I become a citizen, when can I apply for a U.S. passport, and what are my chances of being approved for citizenship?

🚨 Heads up to anyone filing I-130 for a spouse living outside the U.S.! 🚨
If you're sponsoring your spouse through consular processing, please read this so you don't waste money and time later.
Here’s what you need to know:
✅ When filing the I-130:
Make sure to select "consular processing" (NOT adjustment of status)
Choose the correct U.S. embassy or consulate where your spouse will go for the interview
⚠️ DO NOT fill in both the embassy section AND the U.S. address section.
If you fill out both, USCIS might assume your spouse is already in the U.S.
That can mess things up and route your case for adjustment of status, not consular processing
💸 If you mess this up, you’ll have to:
File Form I-824 (costs $465)
Wait months just to get your case sent to NVC
Add big delays to your spouse’s immigration process
💡 Best tip:
Only put your spouse’s foreign address
Only choose the embassy/consulate in their country
Double check everything before submitting!
Please share this with anyone going through the process. A small mistake can cost months of waiting and hundreds of dollars!

Biometry for I130 Us Citizen Petitioner
Our PD is 1st April 2024, almost 16 months. Yesterday we reveived a request letter for a schelduled biometry for the US citizen petitioner.
I don't know what this mean and if it's unusual for a citizen petitioner to be called up for biometry. will this cause a delay in our case or what should we expect from here going forward. anyone with similar expericence or who have any idea on the impilications of this?
EB2-NIW RFE Challenging All 3 Prongs – 7+ Months Since RFE Reply, No Update
Hi all,
I filed my NIW petition through Chen Immigration in Feb 2024. I received an RFE in Sept 2024 challenging all three prongs, and I submitted my response in Dec 2024. It’s now been over 7 months, and I haven’t received any update or decision.
I also submitted a service request to USCIS, but still haven’t heard anything back.
I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing something similar — especially with RFEs challenging all three prongs. If you’ve received a decision or are still waiting, I’d really appreciate you sharing your experience.
Thanks in advance!
I-485 Approved, EB-2 ROW (PERM based)
I-485 was transferred to Tucson Field Office on 06/16/2025. NCBP on 06/30, card in hand today (07/11)!
RFE was for birth certificate even though I submitted it with the original I-485 application.
The entire process including PWD and PERM took just over 3 years (PWD was submitted April 2022).

EB1 I-485 Status: "Immigrant Visa Number Not Available" - Anyone Else in similar situation?
Quick Details:
- Category: EB1 I-485
- Priority Date: December 2019
- Country of Birth: India 🇮🇳
- Receipt Date: First week of October
- December 2024: EAD received
- April 2025: Advance Parole received
My case status updated as below today but am surprised with the status considering my PD is current and I've seen EB1 approvals with PD after mine.
"We are temporarily pausing work on your application because an immigrant visa number is not immediately available to you. Once an immigrant visa number becomes immediately available to you, we will resume processing of your application.
PLEASE NOTE: In the event that you have submitted a valid transfer of underlying basis request, then this Case Status Online message does not mean that USCIS has paused work on your application. Our systems do not currently have the capability to automatically update the receipt of a transfer of underlying basis request or Supplement J at this time.
The message will be updated in Case Status Online, however, after USCIS takes some other action on the adjustment of status application (for example, issuing a request for evidence, transferring the application between offices, or approving the application).
For more information, please see the Fiscal Year 2023 Employment-Based Adjustment of Status FAQs page."
Questions:
1. Anyone else seeing this status recently and in similar situation as mine?
2. Is this a system glitch or should I be worried?
3. What's the typical resolution timeline?
Looking for similar experiences and advice on next steps!

Wishing everyone the very best may we all receive good news soon. Let’s leave it all in God’s hands He sees our struggles and stress.

💚 I still can’t believe it. I cried when I saw the update. After years of living in fear, uncertainty, and so many setbacks I finally got my green card. I fought hard. I did everything I could. I almost gave up... but I held on.
👩👦 My 21 year-old son filed for me. It wasn’t always easy, but today, I know it was worth every tear and every sleepless night.
To anyone still waiting: your turn will come. Don’t lose hope. Trust the process, advocate for yourself, and keep going even when it feels impossible.
Your miracle can be one update away. 💫
