Something is wrong…
I applied on January 2024 and received a Request for Evidence (RFE) with only one page. It simply requested my bachelor’s degree without specifying any particular requirements or criteria neither prongs.
I responded by stating that I was enrolled in an MBA (Master of Business Administration), which is a master’s degree. I was surprised that the agent had asked for my bachelor’s degree when I was actively pursuing a master’s degree.
I submitted my response in October 2024, but it has been a year since then, and I have not received any response. This situation has been causing me significant stress.
EB-2 NIW I-485 pending since 11/25/2022 (Pittsburgh FO). 06/10/2025: “security checks pending”. ONPT SRs + Emma/Tier-2 + senator/ombudsman done. Any proven way to move background checks?
My I-485 (EB-2 NIW) has been stuck since 11/25/2022. Interview waived; case at Pittsburgh Field Office; since 06/10/2025 status says security checks pending.
Tried: multiple Outside Normal Processing Time SRs, Emma/Tier-2, congressional inquiry, CIS Ombudsman (closed), biometrics (twice), I-693 submitted, and expedites for I-131 (need multiple-entry AP) and I-765 (financial loss) with evidence uploaded.
If you had similar delays, what actually moved your background checks? Did a congressional escalation / refresh-rerun request / InfoPass help? Any tips appreciated.

long fine and nothing yet
I submitted and inquiry on July 30 most likely I should get a response before 24 of this month uscis said “From the outside normal processing times request
I am reviewing it appears an agent at the office was assigned the request on 08/28/2025, and they should be in contact with you before the 28th of this month.”

✨ Big News – Our Green Card is Approved! 🇺🇸
After a long journey, our immigration case finally got approved on October 11, 2025! 🙏
Our interview was held on September 26, 2025, and it was quite detailed — the officer interviewed me and my wife separately for about an hour each. They asked about every visa we’ve held in the past (we had 4–5 different U.S. visas), and went through everything very carefully.
The interview went smoothly overall, but the officer was a little confused about our priority date, so she said she would double-check everything before making a final decision. At the end, she brought us both together, asked if we had any questions, and when I asked about the approval timeline, she mentioned it could take up to 120 days.
To our surprise and happiness, exactly two weeks after the interview, both me and my wife got our approval notices! 🎉
It’s been a long process full of patience, hope, and faith — but finally, it’s done! ❤️🇺🇸
any questions is more then welcome
finally 💚
after almost 5 years, my journey has come to an end!
my interview was Sept 9th and I had to wait until
oct to have more visas available so they could approve my case!
be patient and resilient that’s my tip. there’s nothing else we can do 😂

Encouragment
I filed my VAWA in September 2022 and last month made it exactly 3years but no RFEs or Decisions yet though I’ve been receiving my PRIMA FIECE.
But today, I just felt it in my spirit to tell someone here to Hold on, your journey is not in vain. Every day you wait brings you one step closer to a new beginning. Keep hope alive, because good news travels slowly, but it does arrive. Your story is still unfolding, and the best chapters are ahead. I know it’s draining, frustrating, and depressing but hold on and soon, we will all testify.
