F2A - California Service Center - PD October 2022
Hi everyone,
I-130 (F2A) was filed in October 2022 at the California Service Center.I received an RFE in December 2025 and submitted my response on January 4, 2026.
Based on your experience, how long does USCIS usually take to make a decision after receiving an RFE response? Any insight or timelines would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

My I-129F was approved on November 2025 and USCIS updated my status to “Case Was Sent to the Department of State” on January 2026.I’m now waiting for NVC to create the case number and forward it to Embassy Cairo.
For those who recently went through this stage:
How long did it take you to receive the NVC case number/email after USCIS sent the case to DOS?
Thanks in advance
biometric for the petitioner
i had a feeling that i should share this with the community bcz there are not many posts about this.well im a petitioner for my wife and our pd is dec 21,22 under f2a category.last week i was asked for biometric (petitioner) even tho this is not casual.my biometric appointment was for feb 2nd,26 but i rescheduled it for today (i wanted to do it asap) anyway i had to do it.spoke with atleast 3 different lawyer two of them told me its normal and other one just scared me.
experience on my biometric-it was really quick like 2/3 minutes.didnt even had to seat and wait.soon as i checked in i was called by one of the asc agent.she took my only two fingers prints, photo and signature and i was done.i asked her why as a petitioner im required to do biometric, and she was like im tired of answering this question everyday!this is became something very normal.got notification on my case soon as i walked out that is is being actively reviewing again.just finger crossed now.hope this would help someone who is on same boat.
