I-539, F1 Reinstatement
My Initial Reinstatement application : During the year 2023, Our school faced significant financial challenges which resulted in the removal of many faculty staff, including the president and advisors. This situation left the school understaffed, and, In the fall of 2023, I was on track to graduate on time with a degree in information technology. However, an unexpected cancellation of one of the required classes by school caused by an absence of an instructor led me to be short of meeting my graduation requirement. Immediately, I reached out to my Dean of Students and requested his assistance to graduate on time and requested him to either substitute the class or waive it off since it would help me graduate on time. Despite the emails and follow ups, out of fear and jeopardizing my status, I enrolled in another semester because I was under the impression that once I enrolled and paid my fees, my status would be extended. During this time, I had constantly been going to the ISS office but due to being understaffed there were student workers who weren’t really experienced regarding OPT, CPT and I20 requirements. This not only causes delays, but it also affected other international students who now must file reinstatements. Additionally, In October 2023 I reached out to the International Student Services (ISS) office to let them know my plans for graduation and I had mentioned to them that since school had canceled on of the class, I will be enrolling in one class for the winter session, regrettably I didn't receive any guidance or information that I would need to extend my semester. Therefore, In January 2024, I reached out again to the Dean of Students, My Academic Advisor, and International Student Services (ISS) and I mentioned to them that I have enrolled in another semester out of fear and to maintain my status and I asked them for guidance and if I meet my I20 requirements and comply but there was no response at all. (Evidence provided) While all this was going on, I had been applying for internships and I received an offer from a company and on February 13, 2024, I went to the ISS office to grant me a CPT and I was told to send an email, upon emailing the ISS office, it came to light that I had fallen out of status and was ineligible for CPT. This caused a lot of emotional distress and I reached out to my new president of school and explained to him all that happened. The Vise president reached out to me along with my ISS advisor and told me that they will apply for a correction but 1 week later, I was told that the correction was not granted, and I had to apply for reinstatement. (Evidence provided)
This is what USCIS sent me, for me to provide more evidence : Although you provided an explanation of why you were not able to maintain your status, your explanation does not establish that the circumstances that led to the violation of your status were beyond your control. Provide a detailed explanation of the circumstances that led to the violation of your status and explain why the circumstances were beyond your control. Provide evidence of your claims. #reinstatement
What does that mean?
There’s a note under employment based chart that said:
*Employment Third Preference Other Workers Category: Section 203(e) of the Nicaraguan and Central American Relief Act (NACARA) passed by Congress in November 1997, as amended by Section 1(e) of Pub. L. 105-139, provides that once the Employment Third Preference Other Worker (EW) cut-off date has reached the priority date of the latest EW petition approved prior to November 19, 1997, the 10,000 EW numbers available for a fiscal year are to be reduced by up to 5,000 annually beginning in the following fiscal year. This reduction is to be made for as long as necessary to offset adjustments under the NACARA program. Since the EW final action date reached November 19, 1997 during Fiscal Year 2001, the reduction in the EW annual limit to 5,000 began in Fiscal Year 2002. For Fiscal Year 2025 this reduction will be limited to approximately 150.
Does this mean Fiscsl Year 2025 will get only 150 approvals in totals?

Hello Everyone,
Normally, I handled the eb1-a case with a lawyer. We applied for I-485 etc. in June and completed our biometrics process. So can I do expediting as an individual? What kind of documents do they request? Has anyone done any?

How long was your n400 interview? Baltimore field office
Hello there!
I was lucky enough to get my n400 interview scheduled for next month! I am over the moon!!! unfortunately, the interview is scheduled for Thursday at 10:45am, but I have a flight leaving from DCA at 3:10PM that I would hate to miss!! I will most likely be changing my flight so I can have more buffer time to get to the airport, but I was curious what your experience was for the n400 interview in the Baltimore office. How long were you waiting, how long was the interview? thanks in advance!!

Visa Bulletin is out and I think I wanna quit my job.
Guys, visa bulletin is out and I’m so disappointed. I’m working for the company almost a year. Looks like they’re not gonna advanced that much this 2025 fiscal year. I wanna go back to school instead of wasting my time for this. I got interviewed and my case is pending, however my pd is Jan 2022. If it continues to advance every quarter like the 2024 fiscal year, it will take forever for me to obtain my green card. What do y’all think? Have you planned what you gonna do? Please share your thoughts.
