k1 visa processing
hello everyone. please I need your suggestion and help. I am a beneficiary for a k1 visa and having an interview soon. I once lived in china but on a business visa and at a point overstayed due to Covid. I tried applying for the foreign police clearance but they said I don’t qualify for it. am confused with what to do now. if anyone got a similar issue please can you share yours with me. thank you
LPR, stay outside USA?
Hello community,
I am permanent resident of USA and will apply for naturalization in 2025. Can someone confirm me how long can I stay outside USA in a year? I read/hear somewhere it’s 3 months and somewhere 6 months. Also, how does USCIS calculates the year? is it the calendar year or the month you were granted permanent resident. in my case I received green card in September 2020, so will my year count from September 2020? I appreciate your response.
Marriage U.S Citizen
Good evening everyone, I have a few questions.
Me and my girlfriend got engaged and we decided to get married, we do have a few concerns.
first, I overstayed my status for 120 days during Covid because I wasn’t safe to travel back to Brazil, should I be worried about that? I was on F1 student visa.
2- If we get married in Brazil, and decide to live here for the next two years, when we decide to move back to the U.S, will I be granted a permanent green card? Will I be able to apply for citizenship after one year?
3- After getting the permanent green card, can I live abroad? Do I get the citizenship at year 3 of my marriage or do I have to be living in the U.S for my citizenship?
4- Does the Brazilian marriage paper work as proof of the marriage?
sorry for so many questions, although we want to move back to the U.S in the future but I have really great career opportunities In Brazil now, so we would delay our return to the U.S. #1
