Case Processing

Elections Affecting Immigration
I feel devastated, anxious, worried after seeing the results from the election. Cases are getting approved slower each day, and less and less people’s cases get accepted, so can’t quite picture how will this government improve that. It’s so hard been waiting for a long time, play by the rules, have kinda figured out the plan to follow, and almost be able to touch the end line, when the rules of the game change. In my case my I-130 hasnt even been approved yet, and I know my husband and I still have a long way to go, but it is during this waiting time that we figure out the requirements we need to have in hand for the steps ahead. One of the main requirements is having a sponsor. My husband is a disabled veteran and because of that he doesnt make the enough taxable money to sponsor me. This means I had to find another person that made the enough supporting money. I am very lucky to have my mother in law offered to be my sponsor. Currently this is the plan if everything flows smoothly. What worries me the most is that the new president did his campaign on wanting to modify the law of public charge. He proposed that if the person petitioning for you didn’t make the enough sponsoring money to bring you into the states, you wouldn’t be able to find or add any other co - sponsors, as it is currently allowed, and your case would be dismissed until your petitioner is able to sponsor you. Im not at this step yet, but it is taking so long to approve my I-130 that I feel that by the time I make it to NVC and have to do the 6 steps, this modification will already be in full action. It would absolutely destroy my family if our case was dismissed after such a long wait for the approval, while being apart, and all because we were not able to add a different sponsor that made the enough money. How many of you guys would be in a situation like this? How are you dealing with the stress of what other changes will he be making to the process? Who else feels almost there and when you get almost to the goal it gets pushed further? What a time to be in a migration process 😣
