Case Processing
Inquiry
Hi everyone, as you can see, my case has taken forever, and nothing is moving, so I sent an inquiry about my card to USCIS. My husband wants to go to the Congresswoman before we even receive the answer from USCIS. How long will it take to get an answer from USCIS, and should we reach out to our representative as my husband suggested ?!

My case was in Texas until Jun 2024. It moved to NBC after congressman involvement.
I did biometrics twice (because it has expiration of 15 months)
My last inquiry was on Oct 1. I asked why my case takes too long. The response was within 2 weeks notifying me that it may take up to 6 months to review my case (due to their internal delay).
I asked again for congressman support and they submitted an expedited request 30 days ago exactly.
The GC was approved for myself and my family (5 people)
I used my congressman help 4 times for my self and my family during this journey. The team was extremely helpful.
My case wasn’t in CRP.

Frustrated beyond frustration!!!
Dear All,
I’m really frustrated at the slow speed of processing of my applications by USCIS.
I’ve been in the US for almost a year now. I haven’t received my work permit authorisation and everything else is according to their system “within the processing time”!
I’m a professional with many years of experience and my profession requires me to work regularly to keep up with current developments in my field. I’m effectively “stuck” here in the US (I normally work globally) and feel that by the time I get back to the job market, I’ll face the rhetoric of not being up to date…
Even though I still meet my CPD requirements with my professional body using online webinars, it’s difficult when the theories learnt are not put into practice immediately.
I’m really frustrated and can’t believe that the immigration system for the greatest nation on this planet is plagued with so much backlog…
My Suggested Solutions for USCIS:
Regarding the delays and backlogs
1. Hire more staff to do the job (on contract and/or permanent basis). You already have the funds to pay the additional staff through the application fees received.
2. Automate your systems using the latest technology and through the use of qualified and competent individuals.
3. Be honest and more accurate about the timing for processing applications. This allows applicants who are human beings not just “alpha numeric” codes in your system to plan ahead and live without the anxiety this delay is causing.
These are my humble thoughts on this matter. Feel free to comment accordingly.
