Looking for Advice: Getting Legally Married Abroad as a U.S. Green Card Holder Based on Asylum
Hello everyone! I’m looking for advice from anyone who has a similar experience.
If you are a U.S. Green Card holder who obtained your green card through asylum and traveled outside the United States to get legally married, I would really appreciate hearing about your experience.
My questions are:
• Which country did you travel to for your marriage?
• Does that country allow foreigners to get legally married while visiting on a tourist visa?
• Were you able to obtain an official marriage certificate?
• What documents and procedures were required?
I would especially appreciate hearing from people who have experience getting married in Middle Eastern or nearby Asian countries, as my fiancée is currently in Afghanistan and may not be able to obtain a visa for South American countries.
If you have gone through this process, please share the country you chose, how the process worked, and any advice you can offer.
Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences. Your advice could be extremely helpful to us and others in a similar situation! 🙏
Education in 2026: Skills, Technology, and New Learning Opportunities
Education in 2026 continues to adapt to changing professional demands, technological developments, and the needs of students. Schools, universities, and training providers are exploring new ways to make learning more accessible, practical, and engaging.
Digital platforms allow students to access educational materials, attend online classes, and communicate with teachers from different locations. Artificial intelligence tools can support learning by explaining complex subjects, helping with research, and providing additional practice. However, developing critical thinking and verifying information remain essential skills.
Another important priority is lifelong learning. As industries change, professionals increasingly need to update their knowledge and acquire new abilities. Online courses, vocational programs, and professional certifications offer flexible opportunities for career development.
Keeping Hostels Clean and Comfortable for Every Guest
Maintaining cleanliness in hostels is essential for providing guests with a comfortable and pleasant stay. Since hostels accommodate many travelers in shared rooms and common areas, regular cleaning helps maintain hygiene, prevent unpleasant odors, and create a welcoming environment.
Bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, hallways, and lounge areas require consistent attention. Bedding should be changed between guests, frequently touched surfaces disinfected, and floors cleaned regularly. Shared kitchens need special care because food preparation areas can quickly accumulate dirt, grease, and bacteria.
A clear cleaning schedule helps hostel staff organize daily tasks and maintain consistent standards. Providing guests with accessible waste bins, cleaning supplies, and simple hygiene guidelines can also encourage everyone to contribute to a cleaner environment.
How Software Supports Everyday Tasks and Business Operations
Software is an essential part of everyday life, helping individuals and businesses complete tasks more efficiently. From mobile applications and office programs to advanced management platforms, software provides tools for communication, organization, data analysis, and problem-solving.
Different types of software serve different purposes. Productivity applications help users manage documents, schedules, and projects, while accounting programs simplify financial tasks. Businesses also rely on specialized software to manage customer relationships, track inventory, process payments, and coordinate daily operations.
Choosing the right software requires understanding specific needs, available features, pricing, and compatibility with existing devices. Security is another important consideration, as reliable programs should receive regular updates and offer appropriate protection for sensitive information.
User experience also matters. Software that is easy to navigate can reduce training time and help people complete tasks with fewer mistakes. Before adopting a new solution, users should compare available options and review customer feedback.
Mandamus pro se
Hello everyone,
I can’t afford an attorney, so yesterday I filed a writ of mandamus (WOM) pro se in federal court in Los Angeles regarding my pending asylum-based green card application.
I have been waiting for 22 months. I also requested assistance twice through my local congressman’s office, but I still haven’t received any meaningful updates.
I submitted a request to waive the court filing fee and was told I need to wait until the court processes that request.
Has anyone been in a similar situation, especially with filing pro se or waiting for a fee waiver decision? I would appreciate hearing about your experiences.
This immigration journey can be exhausting, but we must keep our faith, remain patient, and support one another. Wishing everyone strength, peace, and success on their immigration journey. May we all receive good news soon.
Thank you for reading and sharing your experiences.
Interview
Quick update — on Oct 14 my interview was cancelled and a new notice was ordered, then literally the next day (Oct 15) USCIS scheduled a new interview for my I-485 (SIJ/EB4). I also have an active mandamus lawsuit with USCIS. For those with SIJ-based cases, what did your interview actually cover?
USPS did not deliver card and tracking not updated
So, it’s been 3 days that USPS is supposed to have delivered my card but haven’t done so. Uninterestingly, the tracking hasn’t been updated for 6 days. According to the last scan that I can see online, it’s stuck in Kansas MO facility. Anyone have an idea about what to do in this situation?
