good moral character ?
I filed VAWA myself in 2025 ( took me 2 years to prepare the evidence , and pre select it, package still was 120-200 pages long overall).
what do they mean by good moral character ? I have a clean police record, did some volunteer work some time ago, have my university and work at the same time…. I have witness writings from friends ( who are both Us citizens loving abroad) hoping that this helps but o wouldn’t know what they actually mean by good mortal character.

so my soon to be legally divorced husband was CID ( army). so of course police and army didn’t do shit ( but some within the army at least tried so there is that). took me 2 years filing VAWA ( had the interview, did the medical then was told the process had been withdrawn upon my behalf by my then husband). after that he went to the states, stopped paying me spousal support and left the army. well, having put my entire studies and career geared towards the US; plus having had a miscarriage , I felt like I didn’t have enough evidence, as well, he was someone working within army police… anyways so I sent everything in September 25, and got two receipts, both being the Notice of they have received it.
would there be a point of seeing why my ex withdrew the petition? o thought it was illegal to withdraw after the interview ? they just told me I needed to submit the medical, and I spent money on it…. #vawa #i130 #militaryspouseabuse #military #army

How many days did it take for the fees to be charged to your credit card or ACH, and how long after that did you receive the receipt notice from USCIS?

it's passed 40 months now and there's no guarantee that they will revive my case when it's 46 months.even no rfe.
now my lawyer preparing docs for mandamus. Got nothing to lose. 3.5-4k$ will be total charge.

Birth certificate for I-485 doesn’t include my name: anyone dealt with this
Hi everyone,
I’m preparing to file my I-485 and just realized my birth certificate only lists my parents’ names and my date of birth; my name isn’t on it. I’m 40 now and my local county says the maximum time to add a name to a birth record was 15 years, so updating it isn’t possible anymore.
- Has anyone here faced something similar?
- Did USCIS accept it as is?
- Did you submit any affidavits or secondary evidence?
- Did it lead to an RFE or was it approved without issues?
Would really appreciate hearing what worked for others. Trying to avoid another RFE if possible. 🙏##

Embajada 🇺🇸 en SDO 🇩🇴 Retrasos IR1/CR1/IR5
Slds, comunidad de SDO 🇩🇴.
Por aca estamos, ya este domingo tendré 15 meses exactos esperando cita Consular IR1 en SDO 🇩🇴, gracias al padre que ya van por Diciembre 10 y 12 del 2024, cada vez más cerca de ese 2025.
Esta espera es ya insostenible, sigo haciendo énfasis que tendrían que crear correos de 60 días para los inmediatos indicando informaciones sobres sus atrasos para cita consular, tengo mucha fe en que del 10 al 20 de este marzo 2026 que mandan citas a los inmediatos me llegué la anhelada mía con cita para mayo, espero igualmente no ser el único y que a todos en esta comunidad les pueda llegar 🙏🏻
Sigamos esperando y confiados en Dios en que esta espera en algún momento será reducida para almenos los nuevos solicitantes en NVC, porque obviamente a los que están como yo, ya no nos beneficia pero casi casi estan en 2025.
Cuando reciba cita les actualizo por aca, mucha suerte y bendiciones 🙏🏻
