Emma agents suddenly can’t access my I-485 case — does anyone know why?
I contacted Emma live chat yesterday and again today to ask about my I-485 status. Both agents told me they were unable to access any information about my case and that I need to call the USCIS Contact Center for verification. They said: “Due to the nature of this case, we are unable to access any information at this time. You will need to call the contact center to be verified.” I used to be able to get case information through Emma before, so I’m confused about why this suddenly changed. Has anyone experienced the same thing? Does this usually mean the case has some kind of restriction, special handling, or is it just an identity verification issue?
