I-485 & I-130 - Interview
Hi , we just left our interview for the marriage based green card, we got in there without a lawyer and i believe the interview was very good. How long does it take to get a approval after the interview?
the lady said she will upload the sworn documents and told us to check our online portal for anything else either RFE or approval ? I haven’t recieved anything yet .
Anyone similar situation and how long does it take ?

Basically, we filed for a WOM on August 3rd, and on August 18th, they scheduled an interview for us. But today, we found out that the interview was canceled. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Looking for an Immigration Attorney to Attend USCIS Interview – Northern Virginia
Hello,
Looking for an Immigration Attorney to Attend USCIS Interview – Northern Virginia
I have my marriage-based green card interview scheduled for September 22 in Northern Virginia (Fairfax area) and I’m considering hiring an immigration attorney to attend the interview with me.
For those who have done this before:
* Was having an attorney physically present at the USCIS interview helpful?
* What did the attorney actually do during the interview?
* What is a reasonable fee in Northern Virginia for an attorney to attend the interview?
* Can you recommend an attorney who has experience with marriage-based adjustment of status interviews, particularly at the Fairfax field office?
I’m especially interested in recommendations from people who personally used an attorney for their interview and can share their experience and approximate cost.
Thank you!

Hey guys, two weeks ago my state senator made an inquiry and an expedite request to USCIS regarding my I-485, which has been pending for 26 months. USCIS responded that my application was already assigned and awaiting review, and that an expedite request could not be processed. So, how much longer do I have to wait for approval?

Is it just me or that's a pattern I am seeing, a lot of approvals from LA F0 were from the people whose status changed to RFE received on or after sep 1? Found quite a people whose rfes were received on august but no approvals yet.

I am the dependent. We both received the results on the same day.
The RFE is medical and was delivered on 08/17. They didn't update the status and only gave a decision today.

I-601 and I-212 waivers: Case transferred
My husband is abroad in Albania and we’re doing the marriage-based immigrant visa process. His I-130 was approved in August 2023, and he had his immigrant visa interview in May 2024, where he was found inadmissible because of a 10-year deportation bar. The bar was completed in June 2026.
We filed his I-601 and I-212 in June 2024, and they sat at the Nebraska Service Center for about 25–26 months.
I contacted my congressman’s office and was told the waivers were transferred to the Dallas Field Office. I asked them again later specifically to verify, and they confirmed that yes, USCIS did transfer the case to Dallas. Dallas is also my hometown, so that was kind of interesting to me!
The USCIS API still shows Nebraska, but I’m not really concerned about that. I’m mainly wondering if anyone else has experienced a Nebraska → Dallas Field Office transfer for an I-601/I-212 and what happened afterward.
How long did it take to get an RFE or decision after the transfer? Did anyone else have their case transferred after sitting at Nebraska for 2+ years?
Any insight or personal experiences would be appreciated pleaseeeeeee! 🙏

MEDICAL RFE
Hi all,
I received the medical rfe. Have it ready to send, but the BDV agency have not responded if they are going to add additional form like Sup J, since I m working for another employer.
Please advise if I should just send this medical rfe or should I wait for the response?

Need your help FAM 🙏🏼🙏🏼
First of all i hope we all get the good news we have been waiting for 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I’ve been struggling with my immigration process for a long time unfortunately! And now i have a VAWA case through my ex-wife that i have filed in (Feb 2025)
And now i got married again about 7 months ago and my wife has green card (She can apply for her citizenship in 2.5 years)
my lawyer who’s handling my VAWA case told me it’s not a good idea to file I-130 through my marriage because my wife is not a U.S. citizen yet and if we file the I-130 my VAWA will automatically get withdrawn (Which i know about this info) but he also told me if i file the I-130 before my wife becomes a citizen i would have to go back to my country and continue the process from there! Is that true? I don’t want to leave the U.S. it will take forever to get my status fixed from there and i don’t want to wait forever while i’m waiting for it to work out i haven’t seen my family in 12 years 🥺🥺
