i751 - 2020 applicant, case finally approved!!
I filed & received USCIS confirmation for i751 on Aug 10, 2020. Case has been pending since, on March 20, 2025, my case is finally approved! Yes, nearly 5 years!
I've done countless follow ups via USCIS hotline, 3 ADIT stamp for international travel, reached out to local rep for help. None of the above helped, also I didn't want to apply N400 and change my nationality.
As a last resort, I filed for case assistance through CIS Ombudsman. In 30 days, I received a notification that my i751 has been approved and new card mailed to me.
Wanted to share my timeline here, for anyone who's on the same journey, know that although this isn't an easy process and sometime (often) can be discouraging, have faith don't lose hope and hang in there!!

we made a mistake
we made a mistake and lucky we caught it before they have even bothered to review our case, we didn’t attach my birth certificate or a copy of my passport, I scanned both my old passport and new current one just to be safe plus my original birth certificate, we have now done everything that is required of us.

VISA WAITING TIME
hello just wanna ask if anyone experienced this
I was on 221g but then I waited 2 months for the results
and I got update exactly on the estimated date
March 7,2025
then I went to City to send my documents like passport and the pink paper on March 8 (LBC Togo)
March 10 I checked the Ceac and it says Status “ Refused”
case updated “ March 10”
then I check the tracker on LBC it says “ Delivered to Release to Representative on March 11.
I checked again the Ceac and it’s says Refused Case Updated March 11.
My concern is that I don’t really know if they got my passport since after the Lbc update no update on CEAC.
and it’s been 2 weeks now or 11 business days and haven’t heard back from USem.
No emails if they need additional requirements also and no update.
I called and send inquiry and it’s been 2 days and no response from the USEM.
Is that normal?
My husband is only for 1 month leave and it suck at least the USEM can give me update if they got my passport so I wouldn’t stress myself like this.

EB-2 NIW Approved Today – March 25, 2025!
I’m thrilled to share that my EB-2 NIW petition was approved today — no RFE, fully self-petitioned!
Highlights:
• Priority Date: November 30, 2023
• Actively Reviewed Notice: December 29, 2023
• Processing Type: Normal processing
• Approval timeline: 480 days from filing
• Service Centers: Filed at Texas, transferred to Nebraska (processed there)
• Case Block: IOE09233
• Country of Chargeability: all other countries (ROW)
Field: Public Health & Clinical Research
Education: Doctorate Degree
Publications at filing: 8 (with 10+ citations).
Interestingly, I was initially turned down by attorneys who felt my case was not strong enough, maybe due to low citations— so I self-petitioned, and here we are. Grateful to God for this milestone!
Wishing the very best to everyone still in the process or just getting started — you’ve got this!

Trump administration pauses green card applications
Trump’s new executive order today made me really uneasy.
As an asylum applicant who has been living in the U.S. legally and waiting for years, I feel increasingly uncertain about our future. I understand the need for national security, but I’m afraid that these kinds of sweeping policies will affect vulnerable groups like asylum seekers who followed the legal process.
How are others in the community feeling about this?
Do you think this will slow down processing times or even change eligibility in the long term? I’d really appreciate hearing others’ thoughts and experiences.
Religious Worker Update. Please share your thoughts and knowledge about this
Ministers and non-ministers in religious vocations and occupations may immigrate to or adjust status in the U.S. for the purpose of performing religious work in a full-time compensated position.
Sunset Date for Non-Minister Religious Workers Program
On March 15, 2025, the president signed into law H.R. 1968, extending the EB-4 non-minister special immigrant religious worker program through Sept. 30, 2025. The law allows these workers to immigrate or adjust to permanent resident by that date, also known as the sunset date. Non-minister special immigrant religious workers include those within a religious vocation or occupation engaged in either a professional or non-professional capacity. This date on which the program will end also applies to accompanying spouses and children of these non-minister special immigrant religious workers.
Special immigrants entering the U.S. solely to carry on the vocation of a minister, and their accompanying spouses and children, are not affected by the sunset date.
Religious Worker Expedite Requests
The decision to accommodate an expedite request is at USCIS’ sole discretion. We consider all expedite requests on a case-by-case basis. To increase efficiency in the review and processing of expedite requests, we are not required to provide justification regarding decisions on expedite requests.
A nonprofit organization whose request furthers the cultural or social interests of the United States may request expedited processing. For petitioners who are selected for a pre-adjudication compliance review site visit, USCIS cannot process the petitioner's request for expedited processing of Form I-360 Special Immigration Religious Worker petition until a successful compliance review is completed.
The request must demonstrate the urgent need to expedite the case based on the beneficiary’s specific role within the nonprofit in furthering cultural or social interests (as opposed to the organization’s role in furthering cultural or social interests). Examples may include a medical professional urgently needed for medical research related to a specific “social” U.S. interest (such as the COVID-19 pandemic or other socially impactful research or project). As another example, a religious organization may urgently need a beneficiary’s specific services and skill set to continue a vital social outreach program. In such instances, the religious organization must explain why the beneficiary is specifically needed, as opposed to pointing to a general shortage.
