Approved!!!!
Finally, my day has come!
I was approved just two days after my I-485 interview. I was the only person who attended the interview since my I-130 was already approved, so USCIS didn't need to speak with my petitioner.
The questions asked during the interview were primarily about the information in my I-485 form.

Interview
just finished with my interview it was nerve recking it lasted about twenty minutes he just asked us a couple question nothing too invasive, he then asked if we have any additional evidence for him and afterwards he said he has enough evidence to make his decision and advised me that I will be receiving a letter in the mail within 1-2 weeks with the decision and if approved I’ll get my GC in 6-8 weeks. But that’s it just have to wait and see
Regarding form I-290B
My H1B form I-129 was denied on June 2024 regarding speciality occupation concerns. Later my employer filed form I-290B ( Motion to Reopen/ Reconsider) in July 2024 with extra evidences. I still did not hear back on anything on MTR and almost close to this year lottery cycle.
1. It’s already been more than 7 months so does anyone know how long will take it to hear back on Form-I290B ?
Missing document at local office
Hi All,
Just to share something I experienced recently. It’s been over 1 year since my vawa was approved and I’m yet to get a decision on my I-485. so I called Uscis to ask the status, I was told they didn’t receive my response which has a deadline of August 19 2024. When I tracked it online, it showed it was delivered the morning of August 19. Meanwhile I requested FOIA in November 2024 and got a response in December 2024. In the FOIA response, I saw all the applications I have filed and all my responses including the one the representative said they didn’t receive. So I argued with him that the response is right in my file with their stamp. He said it could be an error that he will forward my case to a senior officer who will reach out to me within 72hours. About 2hrs after the call, I got a call from Uscis, I explained to the lady and she said she would go ahead and schedule an info pass for me. I went to the appointment with my attorney, we met with a supervisor who was so kind to go look for my file. He got my file and checked for over 2hrs but couldn’t find my response. Luckily for me, I printed the page they stamped from my FOIA response and showed him. He confirmed indeed my response was received with that stamp but couldn’t find it. At the end of the day, he advised I send another package which I did. Moral of the story here, don’t depend only on your attorney. Don’t get me wrong, my attorney is good but I did the follow up myself from requesting FOIA, to calling Uscis. I noticed most local office don’t update if they get response to RFE, if you feel your case has been pending too long especially if you responded to RFE, go ahead and call Uscis atleast to ascertain they received your response. Once they confirm they received it, you can chill and just wait for the decision. But please be on top of your case till you get decision. I always mail my application myself and always keep my receipt for record purpose. Another thing is that, I contacted congressman in January 2025, they responded last month that USCIS said they should give them 60days to make decision. Imagine what would have happened, they claim that did not receive my response and they want to make decision in 60days??? These people are joking with people’s lives in my opinion. I’m sorry the post is long but there’s a lesson to learn. I wish us all favor on this journey
