Finally Got Approved 🎉🎊
The journey has been great, after receiving my work permit and social security card I got busy and started to work hard. I got certified in a field that I love then stayed focus. I know it’s very nerve racking for some but you have to trust the process.

Interview today at the Orlando field #interview
Today, I had my interview at the Orlando drop zone. It was scheduled for 10:45 AM, but I was seen around 2 PM. A woman interviewed me—she was super friendly and playful. The interview lasted about 30 minutes, and in the end, I felt that it went really well. She mentioned that we should have a response within three weeks at most. I’m feeling confident and hopeful that everything will work out! 🙏#interview
I-485 Denied in 2020, but VAWA Approved in 2024 – What Are My Options?
Hi everyone,
I really need advice on my case. My VAWA was approved in July 2024, and my attorney told me that I could continue with my I-485 (originally filed in 2019) had not been updated since 2019. My attorney said they had notified USCIS about my VAWA approval and requested them to continue processing my I-485, so they advised me to wait.
However, after months of no updates, I contacted my congressional representative, and today they informed me that USCIS actually denied my I-485 back in June 2020. I was never notified about this before, and I’m extremely frustrated because if I hadn’t reached out, I would still be waiting without knowing that my I-485 was no longer valid.
I have already requested USCIS to resend the official denial notice, but I know it may take time. In the meantime, I’m trying to figure out my options , Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Approved. Alhamdulillah!
So grateful to Allah that in the month of Ramadan after waiting over 16 months we have finally gotten our I-130 approved. Still have a bit of a journey to go but at least the most difficult part is over.
thank you to the uscis community discord group for giving guidance and support!!!!
