Plan to travel out of country for 4 to 5 months
Hi Everyone,
I need your advice. I’ve been planning to travel to Canada for a few months but my green card is still pending but I have advance parole.
I discussed it with my lawyer about a month ago. The lawyer recommended some documents and said that I should go ahead with my travel plans, assuring me that I will be fine. However, with the situation worsening and Trump imposing a travel ban on Pakistan, I’m now unsure.
What do you think I should do—go ahead with my plans or postpone them?
4 months from submission to approval
Had my interview yesterday morning in San Francisco and approved on spot.
Started with civic questions and read out “Who was Abraham Lincoln” as the ready test. Asked very basic questions and double checked my info.
They assigned the oath ceremony on the same day, one hour later.
Everything was super smooth and within 5 hours I was done with both the interview and the oath.
This morning I went for an walk in appointment for an expedited passport. Finally done with the immigration process and thanks so much for this community.

what kind of benefits????
interview!
Guys, my interview was last Friday, and until then, the app was showing only the message ‘interview was scheduled.’ Today, the status was updated to: ‘As of March 19, 2025, we are actively reviewing your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative.’ Is this a good sign? Did you mean that this is normal to happen? I really don’t know.
What does average time of approval mean?
Hi! I checked my case today because I have been waiting for 89 days now to get a response to the RFE I sent in, and the app says something about a 104 day wait for approval, but doesn’t really explain it. Is this an average for RFEs, and how longg did you have to wait for a decision? thanks!
